Week 3 Games of the Week:
#1 LaMoure vs. FSHP-
FSHP is maybe a bit of a surprising 2-0. They definitely have a very capable running back and are going to be in the Region 2 playoff hunt. I don't know that they have nearly enough to hang with LaMoure this week, but it could be a good indicator of where they really stand competitively this season, if they can compete with the likes of MPCG and Cavalier in Region 2. My prediction is LaMoure wins pretty big, maybe something like 52-12
Napoleon/G/S @ Kidder County-
Some of the 5-team regions are playing region matchups this week and this is one of them. Even though its only week 3 and the opening week of regional play for these teams, this game could have HUGE playoff implications in what might be one of the most even regions from top to bottom. My prediction is Napoleon wins convincingly. Their offense looks to be strong and KC has lost a lot and is a younger team this year looking to find their identity.
Hettinger-Scranton @ South Border-
This game is intriguing because obviously both teams are 2-0 and something has to give, but also because both of these teams have already surpassed last year's win totals. Although it is not a regional match-up, it could help to get a win, start 3-0 and further build the confidence of either team looking to go on and earn a play-off spot in their own respective regions. I'm going with South Border. I think their win over GC/F was impressive and then they took care of business in a big blowout win last week. Give me the Mustangs 32-14
Grant County/Flasher @ Beach-
It's hard to believe that these two teams are squaring off with a combined 0-4 record. Despite the records, I would still consider these two teams to be the Region Favorites and this game very well could determine who the region champion and who earns a coveted first round bye. Both teams have a loss to New Salem at this point and both have semi-surprising losses in their other games. Beach has played well defensively, but has failed to score in two outings. For that reason I'll take GC/F in this matchup, but I expect a tough, physical game.
