Both schools have excellent wrestling traditions and are in the same region so probably pretty familiar with alot of the players. Sam Rieger and Hunter Greenmyer are both excellent linemen that I know of. Logan Sell is tough hard-nosed back for Oakes. I think both teams would prefer smash mouth football. Oakes also has a big TE Besterfield not sure about spelling, who looks like a dude to throw to. I think Lisbon will play them tough, but have to go with Oakes due to homefield and a little more diverse offense. Think it will be an old fashioned slobberknocker IMHO
I agree with all of this. I know Lisbon is undefeated and I agree that they are a really solid football team but I'm not convinced this a pick em game where it could go either way. I would lean towards Oakes by a couple of scores (between 12 and 20 points). I think they have a ton going on that is going to be really hard to stop on offense plus are big upfront. I don't know who I would take as the best team in the state Langdon or Oakes but for overall team depth and being well rounded I might l lean Oakes. Where Langdon has the edge in top end talent, scheme, and big game experience. I'm really hoping this ends up being the championship matchup, I think it would be a really good one.
