I was in attendance at the Beulah-Watford City game this past Wednesday evening (October 19). Beulah won 35-8, but the score was not indicative of what transpired on the field. Watford City moved the ball impressively on the ground, but its success running didn't translate into points until the very end of the contest. Turnovers played a big role in Beulah taking a commanding lead into the 2nd half and never surrendering it! Beulah hasn't lost since getting thumped at home by St. Mary's in week 3 (38-13). But the Miners had a close call against Valley City last week, rallying from a three-touchdown deficit in the 2nd half to nip the Hi-Liners 27-26. Thus,in its last two outings, Beulah has looked vulnerable on defense; and now the Miners will be facing a Kindred team capable of scoring a lot of points. Next Saturday's playoff showdown in Beulah should be a competitive one between two teams with pretty explosive offenses!
