I think with District 2 is there were ties and they didn't want feel the need to break those ties.

I would guess there wouldn't be any ties if you had to pick the top 5 or even 10, and you can't nominate or vote for your own player.

Why is this such a sore spot for you scoob? Why shouldn't they nominate and/or vote for their own?

It really isn't a sore spot. It is a nice opportunity to recognize some very deserving athletes. I just think that it has somewhat turned into a nice participation award for the upper tier. There are some fantastic Class B players who don't get out of Districts but could maybe be recognized as a top player in the state if they could be considered in the top 5 in their district. It would help the players and Class B get more recognition especially with colleges.

Coaches nominate players on their team they think are deserving. Coaches vote on all players, but cannot vote for their own. Players with the most votes are selected.
NodakQ2 wrote:The only problem I really see with the All District teams is that many times a dominate team could easily have 5 girls or more on the team. Instead someone from another team that wouldn't even make varisity on the dominate team is all district. There ARE some of these cases above. Why is it that in many districts there seems to be at least one person from each team on the all district team? Just not really fair to the #4 player on a dominate team when they are 10 times more skilled than the best player on a lesser team. Just something that has always bugged me I guess and no system would be perfect...
