Sniper and Scoobyx, as much as I would love to see Garrison coming out of Region 5, I think that is a crazy(little harsh) prediction.......Garrison has a great record, but only team they played all yr was Parshall and lost by 23 pts...............I do think Region 3 is a tossup, I have Carrington tho...........North Star game vs Lakota might be tossup too, I just like Lakota again this yr. I dont know Kindred or FCT but listened to the FCT game vs Maple Valley last night, FCT sounds good and they are young to boot.
I know this might sound a little biased, based on which team I back, but.......I just couldn't let this slide.....keep doubting.....The Garrison girls beat every team on their schedule that was placed in front of them, other than 1 ranked team on their home floor. The last I checked, the kids don't get to make the schedule?? The Garrison girls not being able to compete with Shiloh???? Really? Based on what? I don't know if you are the one that said this later in the thread, but the 2 best teams in Region 5, clearly were not on the same side of the bracket, maybe historically, but not this year. Grant Co seemed to be up and down all year? Shiloh has obviously had issues with injuries, as has almost every other team I am aware of, including Garrison. Next girl up. I have watched virtually EVERY team in Region 5, all year. It doesn't matter what Shiloh did last year, or the year before. The are VERY beatable this year. They couldn't pull away by more than 15 points to honestly one of the worst teams in our "weak" district. As for the game against Parshall......the Garrison girls had a streak of games where they started very slow offensively and you just can't do that against really good teams. Parshall jumped all over us in the first quarter and we spent the rest of the game trying to close the gap, which was about 9-10 points at the start of the 4th quarter. If we played Parshall again tomorrow, I would pick Garrison in a close win.....If Shiloh was completely healthy, I would definately say we were a longshot this year.....I guess we will know how "crazy" it is about 9pm tonight.... I've found that trying to do comparitive scoring in girls basketball games is about as accurate as flipping a coin, especially if you don't know the intricate details of each particular game.....who was hurt, who got in foul trouble early, was it a bad matchup size or speed wise, did the officials have to much effect on the game.
Hey Trooperdad
, first of all, i will be cheering for your team......secondly , no i didnt say they were not one of the 2 best teams in the Region, altho , in my opinion you and Grant County are about equal.......and yes Shiloh is beatable this yr, and I didnt mean any disrepect, when i said crazy, i did say it was a little harsh LOL..........so yes, you do have a chance, but alot of things will have to fall your way, but as they say, a chip and chair , you have a chance
I will be listening online

Well, you didn't cheer loud enough!
Shiloh was the better team tonight. They did a good job not giving us a lot of clean looks on outside shots and our lack of comparative depth hurt us in the end. I think our schedule changes after this season, but I believe it would have helped us immensely to have already played Shiloh at some point already this season. They were a complete unknown for us, as far as actual court experience, and likely the toughest team we played all year. They were almost daring us to hit them inside and we didn't take them up on it as often as we should have. We missed a few too many bunny shots and too many free throws at the end and it ultimately cost us. It is all good experience for next year. We will be back. This is the first regional championship any of our girls have ever played in. I believe the last time was 1999? I would like to have played Grant Co. I think that would have been a good contest, and I would agree that we are pretty comparable. I think Grant Co could be tough next year as they seem to have some potentially good up and coming Freshman.
