Yes if I recall I've been told Bottineau's girls did it at one time.

I can't remember the exact year, but I believe it was mid-late 90's when DLB boys had to play-in just to make it to districts and went on to take 4th place in state. (Standing Rock won state that year in Miont) Back then, I believe DLB was in District 15 and not every team was an automatic to play in the district tournament (too many teams). They had a play-in game for the last spot in district. DLB went on to the champ. game at districts and took 2nd place. They went on to sweep Regions and found themselves at the state tourney. They took 4th place. I'm not sure, but I would bet that they had to have bet a #1 team somewhere along the way! Run, maybe you can help me with the year.

well the year was 1998 when SR won and DLB got 4th.

Also in 2002 Berthold was the #8 seed goimg into districts, got Adam Grant back right before the District 12 tourney and went on take 2nd in state to MPCG. Surrey was #1 seed and got beat by Berthold in regions as well. Some current coaches in district 12 on those teams, Chris Brown for Berthold(played for Berthold) and Jeremy Feller, ORCS, played for Surrey
