Ryan didnt have their center playing in that game though and he is a decent player. either way it was so long ago that you cant really look at that game as an indicator.
other than that berthold, botno, and dlb should take care of business but ya never know.
have dlb and westhope played yet?
the big show wrote:With your prediction, Minot Ryan and berthold can't meet in the championship. And I'm sure rugby will take care of them first round. Rugby easily beat them in the regular season. Rugby vs berthold will a good second round match up. Should be an exciting region tournament!

Either of those two might win if Berthold has a bad, bad night. The others have a very slight chance. However, it is tournament time and anything can happen. Just my 2 cents anyway.

Yes - I thought that too. That's what they announced at the Dist. 11 tournament. Paper was wrong.
mags wrote:if in fact DLB plays dunseith, one could really agree that it would have been more beneficial for bethold to lose to dlb in that distric title game not?

I'll say Ryan beats DLB in the title game next year. Rugby will be affected more than you know by the loss of Welk. McAtee is also a very good defender. Westhope will be alright but those two can't get them to the title by themselves. DLB will be very good but will literally have 3 kids on the roster who can score. They will score a lot, but I don't think it'll be enough. Can't forget about Berthold next year. They'll have some decent athletes back. Gunderson will be a pretty good big man when the team goes around him and he doesn't have the awkwardneess of playing with Dan. The Lee kid is only a freshmen and scores well. He'll be tough in future years.

Yeah, I think Tanner Holte puts DL-B over the top in the region. Remember, it's not as if DL-B is devoid of basketball players in their system. They're just young. Travis Johnson will step in and start, and Brett Johnson will probably start. They won't be as deep as Minot Ryan, but they have a better sophomore class with their big three. Westhope had five guys score at least 20 points in a game this season, so I'm not worried about others and they have decent depth.
But, I think I'll change my pick since you got me thinking Indy. I'll take DL-B over Ryan for the region title, but Westhope wins their district.
