Who is the best runningback in AAA

The teams in Class AAA

my 2 cents is that saintal is the best running back in the state and then comes kraft then westby then johs. sure if any running back had a good line they could have a 200 yard game. saintal and kraft fight for every yard and earn it.

Have not seen North play. Century's line looked very impressive every time I watched them play.

they do alright. they have size and speed. conrad always seems to being leading the way when it comes to the big blocks. but still saintal and kraft = the best

The best of the running backs not from Bismarck High or Mandan High.

Same. The best running backs in AAA this year are from Bismarck High and Mandan High.

so you say kraft has to work for every yard, i dont think he does because century has a pretty good line. I don't think he has to work as hard as you think.

I was under the impression Century's line was their strength. Is this not true?

I have watched two and I think their line is very impressive. They won the battle in the trenches against Mandan and competed well against Bismarck.

In the Minot game they got some pressure, but they couldn't stop the run if there life depended on it.

I hope theres a rematch.

Layne Johs is better, as is Seth Westby.

Perhaps if we rephrase the original post and ask "you are recruiting for a college and can only pick one ND HS running back from the state (any class) which one do you pick?

Maybe saying you are drafting for a fantasy league and only get two rb's which two do you take?

As for me, I take Kraft and Westby. Both are good sized run hard, read blocks well, take care of the ball, and as a bonus Westby can catch the ball.

If I couldn't have them I would go Saintal and Johs.

In your scenario Wild Wolves how do you not go Johs? Just saying from a college ready stand point he is a fast back that weighs 200 pounds as a junior. 200 as a junior is pretty impressive. Kraft maybe weighs 175 and is slower than Johs. And if what Baller45 has said about Layne being a kid that lifts a ton in the off season you'd have to guess he'd be at least 210 next year.

And as for your fantasy league scenario Johs leads the state in scoring by a lot and leads the west in rushing yards. Last time I checked leading the league in touchdowns and rushing yards makes you a great fantasy choice.

who cares about how much a running back weighs? last time i checked the roster says ben kraft is listed at 185 but he's obviously bigger than that. im not sure if you have watched bhs's running backs from the past,, jake miller was like 150 and channing mann def did not push 200. johs is there first "big" tailback. sure hes big but i still think that when it comes down to it.. kraft is better than johs. i also heard today that johs didnt even play in the f.davies game. what kind of a runningback doesnt play if hes healthy???

Layne Johs iss at about 80%. The Bismarck coaching staff is intelligent and does not want to risk injury against Fargo Davies. Looks they made a good decision.

oh so hes definently college ready when he cant recover and is 80% at the end of the week??? that doesnt seem very logical to say that he is college ready.

I may be confused by your post. Are you implying that because a player is injured and the coaching staff feels that it is in the best interest of that player and team to have the player not play in a game that said team will win in a blowout, that player is not college ready? If I am understanding your post correctly, I would have to say that your post does not make any sense.

It does make sense. college runningbacks have to play every week. you cant take games off in the playoffs even if its supposed to be a "blowout". the best runningbacks dont take games off. so thats why kraft is the best in the west because he does not take any games off.

you can take games off in college (and the pros for that matter) because of injury...happens more often than you think. Especially if you have two decent running backs, matchups are in your favor and you are planning a deep season run.

Again, there is a major flaw in your logic. If your coaches do not want you to play, you do not play, that is how all sports work. If Kraft was the running back at BHS and was at 80% and the BHS coaches did not want him to play, he would not play. It is not a matter of skill, it is a matter of coaching.

Seth Westby has not taken a game off and is better than Kraft.
