{sarcasm}Hard to believe that predictions in a girls sporting event could be off.{/sarcasm}

I liked the course...it had some "hills" for a Fargo course...I thought they made it as challenging as possible for a Fargo course. The times today (Leingang - 14:59.8; Lachowitzer - 14:16) among many others were awesome!

NEW CLASS A BOYS STATE RECORD SET TODAY!!

Bismarck's 17 points in a NEW STATE RECORD! Quite Impressive...I think they are capable of scoring very low again next year!

OK, I really don't know much about xc, but how can Hillsboro be #5 in the poll and end up winning it? XC seems like a sport where you should have a really good idea on how it is going to finish. What happened to Zink from Hillsboro? When I saw the results I thought to myself "maybe she's not as good as she used to be," but when I see everyone else was picking her to finish high and she doesn't something must of happened. Injured? Nerves?

She had no injuries and no excuses -- just a bad day (in fact, a really bad day). If you look through past results, it happens to almost all girls -- you just hope that it doesn't happen this weekend. In response to your other questions, cross-country is one of the most difficult sports to predict (especially with girls). Some days you have it and some days you don't.

And your other question, Hillsboro probably wouldn't have been #5 in the last poll if there full team competed all year. They have 8-9 girls that play volleyball and travel with partial teams all year therefore getting much less recognition.

It is absolutely difficult to predict. I follow cross country very closely and I can tell you I got very few of my predictions right.
