I was at the game, Stumpf did get hurt early in the game & continued to play until the final 5 minutes of the game. H-WC had chances to put the game away & didn't, but Enderlin-MV made big plays (both offensively & defensively)when they needed too. Remember, the Falcons lost 3 games by a combined 13 points in their region. That region just won 3 of 4 games in the 1st round of the playoffs. Both teams had 2 TO'S, Falcons both came in 1st half, while H-WC's came in the 2nd half.
Game started with Harvey controlling the ball for almost 9:30 of the 1st Q & turned the ball over on downs at the Falcons 2 yard. Falcons 1st possession of the game, 1 play 98 yard TD pass in :14 seconds. Final 4-5 minutes of the game, H-WC up 14-7 & have a 1st & goal at the Falcon 1 or 2 yard line, 1st play botched snap between QB/center lost 2-3 yards back the 4, 2nd & 3rd plays, both runs combined for -1 yard, 4 & goal, Stumpf intercepted by Haseleu at goal line & ball returned to the Falcon 40 yd. line. Stumpf made a good play to Haseleu to slow him down & was caught by Hovland at the forty, otherwise Haseleu would have scored (Stumpf hurt on play). Those were the biggest plays in the game. Falcons, from there own forty went right down the field & scored with 2:28 in the game, trailing 14-13, call a timeout & decide for the 2 pt. conversion which they got & won. JMO, in sports, when you refer to a team choking, I always look at the team that win's & say they put the so-called choking team in position to choke (if you want to call it that). I personally think Enderlin-Maple Valley has a pretty good team & some very good football players that deserved to win against a pretty good team in H-WC. Ethen Preston, Jordan Haseleu, Dylan Lerud, Jesse Beilke, Thomas Lindgren, Jacob Sours, to name a few, good players, congrats to coach Kapaun & the Falcons today---good luck the rest of the way.
