What was the score of the St. Mary's/Bishop Ryan game, with the Saint's in the playoff's they obviously won. Anyone know the score or how the game was?

supposedly Beulah made the playoffs and not St. Mary's on point differential. St. Mary's needed to win by 14+ points to make the playoffs.

What it came down to was Bishop Ryan's point differential was +10 after tonight to St. Mary's -5 and Beulah's -5.

So therefore...Bishop Ryan received the #3 Seed.

THEN: Beulah receives the #4 Seed via the head-to-head tiebreaker over St. Mary's (18-7).

Mary would have only needed one more touchdown agaist either Ryan or Beulah and they would have made the playoffs. That brings back memories. I played guard and I got called for clipping in a game back in high school that brought back a touchdown we had scored. We ended up losing by 2. If we had that touchdown we would have made the playoffs. We would have met the eventual state champs in the opening round and would have more than likely gotten creamed, but we still would have made the playoffs. Over 30 years ago, and I still remember that game just like it was yesterday. We had a lot of fun playing football back then. :)

I had a typo..Beulah got in with St. Mary's only winning by 6 points (need to win by 14+ points).

By the looks of thing and the way some of the west teams ended their season i wouldn't be surprised with an east sweep.

I agree...that Bottineau/Wahpeton might be the most interesting game of the first round. The way Kindred has played in about 2.5 of the 3 games that I've watched...I could see them upsetting Carrington.

Has there ever been a sweep in the quarterfinals of AA football?

This is a good point but in high school footall reaction to victories and losses have a unique response pattern. I do not feel this is like pro or even college where trending is much more supported. I would be suprised as I feel that "east strength" has been a little of a self supporting assesment. Because they beat up on each other we are saying they are all tough teams and the truth might be that the inverse is true and the west is stronger and more balanced.

Either way I love how the palyoff bring out the unexpected. Look at Shanley two years ago and all the historical teams who took the road all the way to the state championships.

Your first part was 100%, they were early in the year, also note only carrington is in the playoffs for the west and Grafton and Wahp for east, not real realtive. Good points but who would have thought Wahp was only 7 points better that St. Marys, beginning vs. end of season is a life time ih HS with injuries, grades and girlfriends!!

Underlined are the West playoff teams...you were correct on your East playoff teams. Yes there is a big difference from the beginning of the season to the end.

I didn't say it, you did, but i'll agree with you...Although anything can happen in the playoffs, if Grafton has everyone healthy, much better teams than Beulah have walked off the field with their heads hanging down. I'm just sayin...Hope you can make it to the game, should be a fun one.

Lets see here if you can read my previous post it clearly does not say that Grafton will walk over Beulah sooo if you can re-word your last post that would be nice....But i am very curious have you been to a Beulah football game this year because there clearly been playing outstanding with there passing game the last few games. There HOTT!!!!

If Buelah is a passing team, I give them even less of a chance. The Spoilers haven't allowed any team all year to score big points on them. They have a tremendous secondary. Any team that will be able to beat Grafton will be a defense oriented team who primarily runs the ball and plays a ball control type of offense.
