Games of the Week: Wahp @ Grafton / Bott @ Carrington

Postby PrepFBrules » Wed Oct 05, 2011 6:16 pm

Both good games, anybody want to weigh in?

I think Grafton is the real deal, Bottineau's stats are impressive but who have they really beat?

Oh, and by the way. The Grafton/Wahp game is in Grafton, not Wahp as the title says.

I think the score in Grafton will be a little more lopsided. Correct me if I am wrong but in 2009, Whap ran up the score with their star running back (54-6). Coach Maus has been classy this year by not taking advantage of the past game situations but I think they will still try to issue a statement about being the real deal. Grafton by 35.

i would be suprised to see Maus engage in a run up. It is not his style. He has been focused on the big picture, the state Championship. He lost Jake Hanson for half the season last year on a fluke injury at the end of an early season, non-conference game. his O-D line were dinged up bad last year which drastically affected their post season chances so Maus knows what it feels like to have a good team sitting on the sidelines. An opportunity for a run up is unlikely if the opportunity arises, i hope grafton takes the high road, keeping the team as healthy as possible. hind sight is 20/20. i would hate to see a key player or two get injured if the game has already been decided. thewanderer is right, that's not Maus' style. He'll try to score early and often, and if it is well within hand by the middle of the third the JV will be in getting some more experience. Hopefully that's the case, but i'm sure he'll have them prepared to go a full 4 if needed. Grafton by 24...

I would guess Bottineau has beaten everyone they played since they are undefeated. Also, don't they lead for most points scored and fewest given up??

I'm starting to have my worries about picking Grafton by 20 in this game. Friday night forecast for Grafton from the National Weather Service.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Windy, with a south southwest wind 35 to 38 mph decreasing to between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.

Hanson and his receivers are good, but nobody can throw a 40 yard spiral in 55 mph hour winds. And Wahp is primarily a running team if what I have heard is correct.
