Minot’s Holly Johnson was named first-team all-state after proving to be one of the most dangerous shooters from beyond the arc.
The senior forward, who finished the year with the second-best three-point percentage in the West, averaged 21.6 points per game and 11.4 rebounds this season as she helped lead the Majettes to a sixth-place finish at the state tournament.

SO WHAT??
I have never seen Herauf play basketball but I hear she is a great basketball player--even better than VB and she is a GREAT volleyball player (Player of the year in fact.) So what if her team is so -so? She still deserves recognition for being a very good BB player.
Golus is very deserving too in my opinion(obviously so--, a Miss BB finalist!)
Some people on this site say that good players get their teams to State. I don't necessary believe that. Sometimes you have great players and nothing to go with them and maybe a coach who can't quite put it all together and make that great player even better.
This year there was an unusually good group of seniors. It will be a very entertaining Lions All Star game this year!

They have any number of players that can come in and get the job done. As a a team they are well-rounded and as indivduals that have great all around stats that speak to their incredible talent and their generosity on the court....This is a grave and serious disappointement to me as a lover of the sport.

For example: Katelyn Holland gets on the All-State team - she is WF's main scorer. I think she and Alley Fisher have very similar skill sets. If you put Holland on a team with Roehrich, and Fisher on a team with a bunch of role players, Fisher probably gets more recognition.
If you take Larson off of North's team and add her to Minot's, North doesn't win a state championship, but Dehne probably gets 1st team all-state, Johnson gets 2nd team, and Minot does better at state.
Shanley is extremely balanced, and they can win games with different people stepping up. They didn't need one person to score 25 every night, and that's why they were so successful. But, for statistics, no one really stands out.

If Holland would have played for South, they might have won a couple of championships, and if Larson played for Minot, Johnson would be unstoppable. Right now Johnson has to threaten the 3-pointer, and then run down and post up, rebound and score, and then finish as the center on their zone defense. Larson is good, but she gets to play out of the paint, because they also had a post role player who did her job. Good players are good no matter what uniform they wear, and a championship team with no standouts is not a sacrafice for any player.

If you think that, then you did not watch Longtin play. She had an outstanding year. Lead in scoring and assists on the conference champion team and deserved to be an all-stater, no question. If you put Longtin, Carew, Kinney, Pederson on a WIlliston or Dickinson, they would be scoring over 20 a game as well. The writers and sportscasters should get a clue if they are going to vote on this stuff. They missed some obvious ones; most definitely Longtin and Carew.
