I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed

In the East:
Since WF beat Shanley its hard to argue them being ahead of Shanley in the polls but it will play out that North and Shanley are the two best teams in the East followed by WF.

I have to disagree with you on North being top one or two team in EDC as they lost 53-52 at home to south, that is second EDC loss in a week and both on their home court. North's inside game and guard play not at level of last year spartan team period.

North is a good team and they will be in the thick of the EDC at the end of the season. South showed they can go on the road and win against a good team.

The EDC should be fun to watch.

I am really surprised by the last poll that has the east with 3 ranked teams. The 5 best teams in no order are chs. Bhs. Shanley. Dickinson. And mandan. Any of them can win imo...

T$$ - Have you watched any EDC games? South runs the ball and creates turnovers unlike teams in recent memory in the state. They completely took Shanley out of their game with their speed and athleticism. They are still very inconsistent on offense and don't have a go to scorer, but look like a team that can play with anyone in the state.

I haven't watched any edc games but based on the state tournament last year I wasn't impressed with the east. They don't defend as well as the west teams imo. I saw wf play at chs and they played a solid first half. in the west very little separates the top 5 teams and they all could win state. However none of them are that great so if the east has a really good team they could win.

Have not seen South play this year but I imagine that watching them play looks like a bunch of grown men playing high school kids. Saw them play in the BHS summer league. Okland and Deng in the post has to be one of the most formidable interior defenses in the state. They are big and they are ATHLETES. Kazane is definitely an athlete. They have the shooter in Parker. I do not know much about the rest of that team though. Defense does win championships, and South has shown that they can defend.

South has 2 other players that play very good defense. Both Ernst and Horner work very hard and are very strong, physical, and athletic. They bring the blue collar defense every game and both have very good court awareness on the full court presses they run.

Looks like the Bismarck Demons will be the new #1 with Century losing at Minot. We'll see what both teams are made of Thursday night.

I agree that after last year at state, the EDC needs to prove itself. I actually think the way South plays this year will help the EDC at state, because teams will be used to more physical play. Last year, the EDC teams just got out-physicalled by the WDA teams at state.
