New head coach for Wahpeton is Brain Dokkens. He served 6 years as an assistant coach (OL/DL) and is a great guy that all the players love. He was an absolute beast of a lineman at UND.

Robert Bubach resigned last week at Lisbon to take a principal job at Strasburg. So that football job is now open.

That must have been a tough choice. Taking the admin job and leaving the head FB position.

Any word on possible replacements in Lisbon, they have had a strong tradition. Anyone from within?

The only possible candidate from within would be Mark Moss, who was Bubach's main assistant. Don't know if he wants the job or not. I know the school is hoping to have someone in place by July's school board meeting.

Matt Lundeen will no longer be coaching for Bishop Ryan. Personal reasons.

Tony Stauss has been named the head football coach at Oak Grove Lutheran School.

The school announced the decision this morning.

According to a news statement:

Stauss joined the Grover football coaching staff in 2009 as an assistant coach working with quarterbacks and defensive backs. He obtained his coaching certificate through NDSU and has assisted with many football camps in the state of North Dakota.

“I am very excited to be the head coach of the Grover football team,” Stauss said. “We are aiming on two key things for this upcoming year. Namely, as coaches, we will be setting a good example for our players in showing them what it looks like to be upstanding Christian men while also teaching them to be the best football players that they can possibly be.”

Stauss played collegiate football at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., from 2000-2002.

In 2003, he joined the NDSU football team, where he was a 19 game starter at quarterback for the Bison. He currently holds three school records at NDSU, including 5 touchdown passes in one game, highest number of completions in a year, and highest number of completions in a career.

Will Oak Grove and Park Christian be split up this year?

This is their last year of the co-op...next year they will be split up. It'll be interesting to see if OG will drop all the way to 9-man after this season.

You'd think a private school like Oak Grove should be able to get enough people to field an 11-man team.

And wlecome to the club of everyone else who doesn't understand North Dakota private schools. Schools such as Oak Grove and the rest aren't turning away kids or anything like that. It's actually the opposite. They are trying as hard as they can to add kids because they are in danger of running out of students. I'm almost certain Oak Grove will still play A because they have a bigger enrollment than Trinity and Bishop Ryan who both qualify for A competition. Granted Trinity co-ops will New England and Ryan co-ops with Sawyer, I think they might be able to field 11-man teams on their own(maybe not Trinity).

It will be interesting over the next few years...but enrollment is down. Maybe the elementary school will start bringing in students but its hard to tell right now

Do you know if they'll be in Section 5 or 6?

The recent talk that I have heard is that they will be in 9-man after this year!
