The Russ Smith posts lead me to another interesting topic.  Who is your favorite ND radio or TV broadcaster???

I agree Nat Talent, I've had the opportunity to hear Mark Beighley, and he is among the best in ND.  I also have heard Lee Halverson in Williston and he does a good job as well.  Another one that not many know of is in the SE part of the state in Lisbon is Bruce Dougherty, he's got a great radio voice and does a great job of covering local sports in the part of the state.

I listened to "outdoors Live" for like ten minutes and the host of that show should do sports, real sports not fishing :D.  He never has a second of dead air.  I bet fishing would sound better than some football games I have heard in the last few years.

Dean Kraft out of Jamestown has one of the best voices, and know it all of the sports he does.

I heard the "Outdoors Live" guy (Doug Leer) had Cindy somebody on from Dickinson and they were talking about making fishing a HS sport.

Awesome!

Lee Timmerman is a very good sportscaster. He also does a terrific job in March doing all of the state tournaments.

Jake Kulland of Langdon without a doubt is the best sports broadcaster for all sports in ND.

Most TV broadcasters have little if any interest/knowledge of HS area sports. Every year watching the Dakota Bow, state Hoops on tVl I cringe. It's to bad, but true.

Bruce D. from Lisbon is an excellent baseball and basketball man. KQLX does a great job of announcing the small community games not to many stations will carry a legion baseball game down in SE North Dakota. Hint KBMW!!!!. Gary R. is totally awesome too from KBMW just do some local legion games!!!!!

the best tv combination was him and DAN HAMMER. They fed off of each other and made a great telecast. Scoot Peters doesnt do him justice, but great point cause many times the TV guys dont know hardly anything about the athletes unless they are a Travis Mertens or Tyler Koenig.

Yea, some of the broadcasters don't know a whole lot. Most of their comments are comical though. If nothing else, you can get a good laugh in.

I think Rod Kleinjan for KDIX in Dickinson does a great job. Always seems to know what he's talking about, never pauses for names or numbers of players, and has been credited for his unbiased approach to broadcasting, which makes opposing teams more comfortable while listening IMO.

Mark McKenzie is a pretty good basketball broadcaster, he does a good job with districts and regionals for District 5 and Region 3.

Jake Kulland is real energetic plus he's got his own band.  How's that for versatile?  Also hear Beighley out of Devils Lake alot and he has a good voice for radio.  "Count it and a foul" is a great line for him.  He maybe pushes the Packers and Badgers a little much, but everyone has their favorites.
