Postby Nodak Guy » Sun Jul 31, 2011 7:51 pm

I would like to know what happened to all of the past winners of the North Dakota Miss Basketball Award. Curious as to where they ended up going to college, how their collegiate careers went, and what they are doing at the present time.

Here is the list that I found in the Hoopster:

1986 - Sue Hesch
1987 - Wanda Schwab
1988 - Nadine Schmidt
1989 - Sara Hokenson
1990 - Lynette Mund
1991 - Christy Waldal
1992 - Shelley Berg
1993 - Tanya Fischer
1994 - Brenna Stefonowicz
1995 - Lisa Maus, Katie Richards, and Nina Topp
1996 - Jaye Amundson
1997 - Angie Welle
1998 - Mary Perrizo
1999 - Lora Schauer
2000 - Kari Hanson
2002-2003 - Carissa Jahner
2003-2004 - Ruthie Dockter
2004-2005 - Rebecca Kielpinski
2005-2006 - Rebecca Feickert
2006-2007 - Jessica Keilpinski

Rebecca Kielpinski - Playing professionally in Denmark.
Jessica Kielpinski - Finished senior year at New Mexico. Last spotted in Mandan. Has been offered in Europe.

I believe Durene Heisler's daughter has signed to play at UND.

Isn't 01-02 when they switched the season over to the fall so somehow just the years fell with the seasons there's a gap?

Look again. There is no 01-02 school year represented.

1999-2000 Lora Schauer
2000-2001 Kari Hanson

2002-2003 - Carissa Jahner
2003-2004 - Ruthie Dockter

You're right, shouldn't it be the other way around. With the switch of the seasons, wouldn't have their been two winners in the same year? For instance, in the spring of 2001 there would have been a winner and then when the season switched to the fall there would have been another winner in the fall 2011.

No. 2001 was the last Miss BB to win in the fall. 02-03 was the first winner to win in the spring.

Yeah, you're right. I'm getting all mixed up now. There is still a missing winner from 2001 though, right?
