while she is a talented player, Sponsler got alot of love when she had that game against beech at state. good shooter and rebounder no doubt, but you can't leave out Henninsgard and Rude. Henningsgard has a nice shot, leads her team well, and she is very smart on the offensive end with her decision making. I think Rude hasn't gotten the love she deserves because DP hasn't gone as far as they should've for the past few years. she's a solid passer, rebounder, and can stroke the 3

Great players will lead their teams to the state tournament. They will push their teammates to get better all season, and put it all together in the end. Region 2 will be a competitive region, and it will be fun to see which one makes it out of there.

She's ok, but not a top senior in the state, and probably not even a top 5 senior in her region in my opinion. Here are some to consider:
Taylor Kraft - Central Cass
Amber Montag - FSHP
Megan Trautman - Enderlin
Moriah Skroch - Wyndmere/Lidgerwood
Paige Tompkins - Milnor
Kenzie Church - FCT
Katie Campbell - FCT

Church was All-State as a Sophomore. Kraft will be All-State again this year, a Miss Basketball candidate - and possibly the winner. Tompkins has an outside shot of being within All-State consideration, too.

I took it as seniors to watch...but I agree with you, that's a good list of seniors in Region 1.

Watching State tournaments the past 2 years I would say the two top players this year would be Shanna Long and Katie King. Long has a good shot but if you put a great defensive player to guard her, like the Miller girl from Kenmare, it takes her out of the game, while I have seen 2 to 3 girls guarding King down low and she still scores. Rebounds would would have to go to King as well. Word is King traveled and played all summer and in some of the biggest tournaments in the US. Looks like she will turn it up a bit this her senior year. Watch this girl she has game. Taylor Kraft is a strong player this year as well but I believe she is only a Junior this year. Expect good things from her as well and believe she also played this past summer as well on a traveling team.

Paige Tompkins- Milnor. She's a huge threat all over on the court and loves the game of basketball.

I disagree with Megan Trautman being in there. Amber Montag a definite though. Shes played well since her sophmore year.

But how will Montag play without Krueger there this year? But I'll agree with you...I'm not so set on Trautman.

This would be my list in this order:
Taylor Kraft - Central Cass
Kenzie Church - FCT
Paige Tompkins - Milnor
Moriah Skroch - Wyndmere/Lidgerwood
Katie Campbell - FCT
Logan Selisker - Oak Grove
Amber Montag - FSHP
