I would have expected to see Casey Geffre (Hankinson) and Allison Opp (Hazen) on the list, and have Bender (New England) on the roster, and not as an alternate. All of these girl were All-Staters, and Opp and Bender made the list twice. Bohnenkamp (North Sargent) is the only player from Region 1. Aside from Geffre, I would have maybe expected Smith (Maple Valley).

Smith is still recovering from her surgery, so she can play BB in college...so she couldn't play anyways.

Could it be that Opp and Geffre are playing in the VB all-star game? I don't think they can play in both if they happen to get selected to both but I could be wrong. Also, they may have been selected to play but declined for other reasons. Too bad, the Class B team would have been better with these two on it in my opinion.

I would guess that Opp is on the VB all star team. She is a great VB player. And you are right. . . you can only play in one of the All star games --not both.

Has anyone see the list of girls on the VB all star team? The matches are June 21 (Fargo) and 22 (Bismarck).

Does anyone know what the overall records are between Class B and Class A since the inception of the all star series? Who's the favorite this year?

Who does the selection of the Lion's All Star Roster? Where do they acquire all their stats/information? I am not quite sure how Geffre, Mariah Smith or Shelby Krueger were overlooked. If you look at their stats compared to some of the athletes on the Lion's team, its seem to be amazing how some of the athletes were chosen. As far as Smith's knee, it was fine four-six weeks after surgery. You couldn't have a better point guard then Krueger, she is quick and keeps the ball moving and has great shoot. Smith and Geffre were both Senior Athlete of the year and two athletes that I would have them on my team any year. I agree with the other statement that there should of been four out of Region 1, instead of 4 out of Region 2. Its unforunate that some athletes aren't on these teams because of politics.

Smith-probably wouldn't have been able to play (saving for college ball)
Krueger-played in a tourney in Hawaii this summer with many girls from Region 1 and 3 Carrington girls (they won the tourney); not saying that she wouldn't have played in the Lion's game.
Geffre-don't know about her

BTW...Region 2 only has 3 girls and one is an alternate. The two that made the team are very deserving of that honor! Longtin was an All-State player and she is an amazing ballplayer; she can flat out shoot! Erickson is also another amazing ballplayer with many great BB skills.

The games are next week...any predictions? I will go with Class B in Bismarck and Class A in Fargo basically on how I guess they will start players.

I think the Class B Girls will hold there own if they are hitting the three's, but the Class A Height might end up being the main factor in the series. Does anyone know what the overall series record is between the Class B & Class A?
