Region 2 - Thompson, Grafton, Central Valley, what a great region next year. Nobody will be able to rest easy at any point. It's gonna be a battle.
Region 3 - Napoleon or Linton, but certainly not Kidder Co. as they lose a lot to graduation
Region 4 - Carrington should repeat (returns four starters and some bench players)
Region 5 - Standing Rock should repeat
Region 6 - I think Kenmare will repeat as they return Katie King and two more starters and Lexi Munson will jump into the starting lineup after being their sixth man, but Westhope could be there, Our Redeemer's and Surrey return 4 starters from very good teams. Velva and Rugby will also be very good.
Region 7 - Beach should repeat, but Killdeer, Trinity could be right on their heels.
Region 8 - When it's all said and done, I think Stanley will repeat as their big girls are young and they have their point guard back in what isn't an overly competitive region. Look for Watford City to be a big factor. I think they return four starters. Divide County and Tioga will be good as well.

I agree I would only add that I think Linton for Region 3 and Region 7 I think Killdeer will be a threat but not Trinity they lose their height this year.

Killdeer loses their PG and plenty of height, too...

I think Beach is head and shoulders above everyone else at this point, with no clear cut #2 team in the region. But that's just me.

Agree that Beach will be solid; however, Killdeer will still have height and a PG....Killdeer will be a contender in the Regional game against Beach the three seniors were on the bench and they held their own...

Standing Rock will be strong. Long, White Bull, Agard, American Horse, and someone else will have to step up for the opening starting position. probably Bachmeier, but you have a good freshman thats able to step up.

They still need to develop some team chemistry. Long i believe will probably pass the 3,000 career point mark. she has i believe 2,100?

Standing Rock will be strong, but Central Cass will be the team to beat next year. Kraft could go D1 with her size if she can become stonger at the post position, and her strength is that she brings up the play of her teammates. Also, I think Oak Grove could be a factor in Region 1.

Oak Grove loses Forness because of her dad taking a job at Shiloh Christian in Bismarck

That's too bad for OG, but good for Shiloh. OG was really improving with their new coach, and hopefully will continue to do so.

I think its just about New Salem's time to get back to state. I know theyve been close the last couple years with less than amazing talent and some younger kids coming up. with the coaching and development of these girls, I dont think its impossible to rule out NS edging out the Rock.

ughh...no. Standing Rock has one more year of Shauna Long, White Bull, Agard.. New Salem i think will probably meet SR in the D9 championship, R5 championship. ..like in the 08-09 season.

But chances of them beating SR are slim to none..

Grant County has a "slight" chance of beating them.. with that Bentz girl.

Everyone on Standing Rock's team except Long is nothing to brag about. When I watched state this year, I saw a lot of average to slightly above average players and one total superstar that got them as far as they did. When they played a team with an inside presence that could hold Long in check (Thompson for Carrington) they got rolled by 35.

Central Cass has to be a favorite (I don't know too much about many other teams and what they return)

I'd say that it could be a real good possibility that we see a rematch in the State Championship game between Central Cass and Beach.

I believe that their regional seeding will match them up in the semi-finals but I agree that a rematch is a good possibility. Standing Rock should be a favorite to go back to state since they play in a weaker region. Region 2 is probably the most competitive region, and Thompson should be a contender again.

Kenmare plays Carrington, Dickinson Trinity, Beach, Hazen & Westhope to start the year and this should give some insight as to how the teams all compare.

I am going with either Central Cass or Carrington to win State in 2011. Any other thoughts?

Beach will be tough to beat. They return a lot of talent so they have to be the favorite. Until somebody beats them they are the favorite.

Depending on how her off season training goes, Kraft from Central Cass could arguably be the best player in Class B next season if she works on her post game. I will say CC is the early favorite if she dominates the inside. Otherwise, Beach has a lot of depth with players who got key minutes in at state last year, and will be a contender again with their defense.

You've gotta go with one of the top 3 from last year. They all return a lot of good players and i'm sure all play tough schedules to get them ready for state.

Central Cass plays Shanley tomorrow night in the championship of the Courts Plus summer league in Fargo. Both teams have rolled pretty easily through their games this summer, so it should be an interesting matchup! Shanley beat Central Cass last summer in the championship game.

Really? Are we putting much stock into a summer league?
