Beach was so impressive tonight. If both Central Cass and Beach play like they did tonight, tomorrow's games will be very entertaining!

Beach will win by 30+ tonight. CC just does not have the athleticism to keep up with them.

totally agree. beach struggled the first four quarters of the 1st game, but since then they've been tearing it up. i'll say beach 72- central cass 46.

I think any team that shoots as well from midrange as Central Cass does, has a chance... I think Beach's defense is what sets them apart from everyone else... I think they will win but I doubt it will by 30, and really wants to see a blowout in the state title game? I'd rather see a close game down to the wire....

Thompson simply didn't allow Beach's defense win by allowing easy layups, therefore forced the game into overtime. Thompson (who played great) simply didn't protect the ball on the rebounds down the stretch. Beach was the better team, but wasn't allowed to have it easy. If Central Cass makes Beach earn their shots in the half court, it will be a great game. I will still go with Central Cass by 5 because their young guards are very quick, and Kraft easily keeps up with them.

Beach likes to trap the ball on a missed shot. Its important that CC has two outlets and somone in the middle of the floor so the rebound is not hung out to try. A team did this same to me in our state game down here in Arizona. It was a little bit harder for us when the two guards are going to Georgia and Arizona State lol.

From what I've seen the first two days, CC is just too slow to handle Beach at both ends of the court. CC has some excellent shooters where if they could keep the pace slow and hit the outside shots, they have a chance. But I think Beach will control the tempo of the game and just run CC off the court.

Wow, was I off on some of my predictions! I still have Beach over CC in the Championship and Carrington taking 3rd (over Standing Rock). This has been a fun tournament to watch, well played, well coached and well officiated.

Why are you so bitter? If they were gonna seed the tournament, Beach would play Thompson, Carrington would probably have played Stanley or Kenmare, and Kidder County would have played the other one, Central Cass would have played Standing Rock. So the matchups were fairly close to seeding anyways.

If a person were to base things on schedule strength, strength of region, etc., there is no way you could say Beach vs. Thompson was a first round matchup. Region 2 was stronger than that. I don't want to single out the stronger regions vs. the weaker, but it's just one person's opinion that the brackets could have been structured a bit better.

I think I was right that Thompson should have been seeded eighth if they had seedings. I believe this question was answered earlier, but who would you want doing the seedings.
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

I'm interested to see if Central Cass plays man-to-man tonight. Watched them a few times during the season and have never seen them play zone. I wonder who everyone will match up with.

I think Beach definately showed everyone they are the number one team in the state. After that first night, I wasn't really sure, but they proved themselves the rest of the way. I hope to see them there next year with Dietz, Weinreis, and Rising leading the way. Congratulations!

I thought Beach would kill CC with their press and get a lot of easy buckets, but that wasn't the case. CC really did a good job against the press and absolutely killed Beach on the boards. Beach is a great team, though.

Beach is a great team, and they earned the state championship by beating another great team who played well. Also, the coaching on both sides was outstanding. The girls were ready to play, and both sides were convinced they could win it. Both teams will be a huge threat again next.

Ouch. I'm glad you two were wrong. Great game by both teams and what a refreshing run for the Squirrels after a 36 year state tourney drought!

The way she moves makes me think that the sky's the limit for her in the next 3 years. I am born and raised in western ND and that is where I watch most of my basketball. Yet I found myself cheering for Region 1 just because I enjoyed how they played. Wow. I hope my friends never find out. Haha. Looking forward to some great semi-final games.

Hannah Breske is awesome and has 3 more years of great basketball in front of her. Hope you can see her play on TV again next year!

They also look tired. More or less walking down the floor defensively.

Yes, I was very surprised by Standing Rock's defense. I've never seen a team WALK or slowly JOG down the floor to play defense, especially when the other team is already there. They also WALK to the huddle - never seen that before either. Long is absolutely amazing on offense, but if she wants to play at the college level, she will definitely need to work on her defense. She was jogging quite a bit as well. I know she was probably tired, but by this point of the season, they all should be in better shape than that.
