I think beach is gunna win

I think there was a blowin call when it was 61-59 and number 32 for thompson when up for the basekt and got hammerd down... no call and beach scored on that posession and then scored on the next

just form an outside observer

Thompson looks like their running out of gas a little too. The main 4 haven't come out at all in the 2nd half.

Yeah Taylor has looked out of synch all game. Duno if it has been nerves or what, but not a typical game for her by any means.

Kidder County wasn't very aggressive on the final possession, and it cost them. Great game from Shauna Long.

Great game for Standing Rock, and congrats to Long on a great game. Kidder County had it, and simply made too many mistakes in the last half minute.

Why are you so bitter? If they were gonna seed the tournament, Beach would play Thompson, Carrington would probably have played Stanley or Kenmare, and Kidder County would have played the other one, Central Cass would have played Standing Rock. So the matchups were fairly close to seeding anyways.

I agree...they were bracketed almost in a seeding style anyways!

I agree with scc...they should seed the state tournament...no way 1 vs. 2 in the state should play each other in the semi-final..its just stupid not to in my opinion...

KC and CC only had one loss after the last poll, so it could be argued that either of those two teams should have been #2. And thats my point, if you seed the tournament all thats gonna do is create an uproar about how the teams were seeded. This way its unbiased and unlikely the top two teams will meet in the first round. Occasionally they will meet in the 2nd round, but whoever gets in the championship from the other bracket is obviously playing great ball, regardless of their rank.

I agree. I think the state tournament should be seeded. Do it like it's done in Minnesota...top 4 are seeded, then the next four are randomly selected.
Was a good first day of basketball though. Defense was a little suspect at times, but fun to watch nonetheless.

The final eight teams are playing for a state championship, it does not matter who plays who or when, you have to beat everyone to with the championship.

So #1 and #2 play in the semis big deal, watch the game it might be a good one.

Really the state rankings mean nothing...and we saw that yesterday. Its just a number that is given out by sportscasters and sportswriters.

Totally agree with you. Example. Thompson (regular season 4th place team from district 3, Region 2) just got done taking number #1 Beach to overtime. Region 2 didn't get rated for squat in this years state poll. Region 2 was made up of several very good teams that all beat one another week in and week out. So, no 18-0 or 17-1 records and no state rankings. Just a lot of darn good basketball teams. Seeding would be a waste of time.

Exactly! The biggest challenge w/ the Class B State Tournament is getting there. Once there, you have 3 games to win the Championship, and you shouldn't worry about anything else. You have to beat who you get, when you get them, and have a blast being a part of it.

Forget seeding. Gridiron Guru is right - it's the 8 region champs, shouldn't matter who plays who. To win the title you've got to win 3 games. Doesn't matter if your toughest matchup is the first night, you still have to beat the best no matter when you play them.

Back to day one. Was anyone else as wowed as I was by the Braske girl from Central Cass. She isn't the greatest player in the tournament, but she just might be the best athlete. The way she moves makes me think that the sky's the limit for her in the next 3 years. I am born and raised in western ND and that is where I watch most of my basketball. Yet I found myself cheering for Region 1 just because I enjoyed how they played. Wow. I hope my friends never find out. Haha. Looking forward to some great semi-final games.
