Not just all of a sudden because no one else is a scorer on her team-get the award. If that was the case, every ball player would become very selfish their senior year.

its understandable that youre upset that your daughter didnt get the award. you need to just let it go. because guess what, your TEAM won the region. its not about the individual awards any more. the TEAM is going to state. your daughters TEAM could be the best in the state. you should just worry about that.

ouch calling someone out, that seems a little personal

the problem is that if her daughter hasn't been properlly promoted then her daughter could miss out on scholarship opportunities. ok here's a dirty little secret, schools and coaches in ND actually do a pretty poor job promoting players and it is why so many youngsters are getting pushed into playing AAU in the summer time. they do this in order to get noticed by schools. that and soo many programs are worried about "fairness" and participation ribon's that their stud players aren't getting the recognition that they deserve.

I don't know if getting the Senior Athlete award out of a district tournament is really going to get anyone a college scholarship. Having a successful career, getting good grades, and leading your team will probably give you better odds.

yeah but it's pretty sad when u see a superior player not getting an award. it's a basketball award...for basketball; which is a skill sport...if a player has better athletic abilities coupled with superior levels of skill...doesn't that make them the better player? you dont hear about science fair awards going to kids with the "better career" or state music awards going to the kids that...have sang better longer...?
