Region 2 Tournament Predictions

Postby Flying Wallenda » Wed Feb 17, 2010 2:14 pm

Who's going to win in region 2? Opening round games:
Thompson vs. Valley Edinburg
Central Valley vs. North Border
Dakota Prairie vs. Grafton
Hatton/Northwood vs. FLPR

--I'll take Thompson, CV, DP, and FLPR in round 1.

I didn't get there in time to see the whole game. In fact, I only caught about the last 5 minutes in person. Listened to the rest on the radio. Looked to me like CV was really having a hard time stopping NB's drives to the basket. Just weren't shifting and cutting off the driving lanes. NB shot really well down the stretch, and CV didn't.

Grafton 60 FLPR 51. Thompson and Grafton to meet in the championship. New REgion 2 champion this year. First time in the 4 year co-op history for FLPR that they won't be in the Region championship, FLPR is 9-2 in the Betty.

Is Thompson really come on here this strong? Do they have a chance at taking the region 2 title? I heard that they have been shooting the lights out? Karleigh Weber an 8th grader had 18pts last night? that sounds pretty impressive to me.

Thompson has really hit its stride. would say that they probably should be the favorite to win this game. They actually have 4 8th graders that see a lot of playing time. Mix that with a great outside shooter(broyels, senior player of year in district) and sponsler(possible all stater this year) they have really come together. They play an uptempo game and are fun to watch, broyles not afraid to jack it from 25. Both of these teams are very young and could battle in this region for many years. Should be a good game, whoever makes shots will win.

Scary part is, there's two other 8th graders that are probably going to be just about as good as the 4 already playing. Could be some great battles between these teams in the future.

Tough draw with Beach, I would say 5th at best.
