Kinda surprised to not see Westhope-Newburg not getting any votes... I believe they are either 6-1 or 7-1 and beat No. 9 Rolla-Rock Lake and then RV Kenmare... It will be interesting to see how they do at the end of the month when they play Bottineau and then Stanley on back-to-back games...

Stanley did lose to DLB on 1-9-10 43-37
Stanley's record will not improve after playing Westhope,MLS & Kenmare later in the year.

Regions 6 will be very competitive down the road. Kenmare has struggled with a starting gaurd out with a meniscus injury, 4 girls showing up late for a game because of the ACT Test/flat tire problem and the long volleyball season. If you watched them play against Hazen on BEK TV you can see they are starting to come around and will be a team to consider by year end. I believe Kenmare has lost three years in a row to Westhope during the season and then beat them all three in the Region.

Its going to be a fun year for Region 6.

Oh yea, I forgot to state that I am sure hoping for a state rematch between Kenmare and Hazen, just like Volleyball and we will all be treated to another great game like the Volleyball Championship. Both teams have great kids with lots of talent and HEARTS.

I don't think you will be seeing Hazen at the State BB Tournament except maybe to watch they are a very athletic team but that region is full of very athletic teams and hungry for state.

I really think Killdeer is too high in the poll. their schedule has been weak. but they have a chance to earn alot of respect this week when they play Dix Trinity on Thursday and Linton on Sat (civic center). then on 1-23 they play Beach and 1-26 Hazen. what a great final 4 in region 7 would be with Killdeer, Hazen, Trinity, and Beach!!!!!

That's right both were at the Shootout on the Prairie to start the season.... So they have won their last seven in a row then...

I agree that KIlldeer has had a fairly weak schedule; however, I do feel they are a very respectable team and deserving to be ranked in the top 10.

The M-L-S game I believe was not part of the Shootout on the Prairie schedule...I think it was right before the shootout. (I could be wrong though)

I agree they should be receiving votes and F-S-H-P shouldn't be.

I agree about FSHP. I don't know who keeps voting for them. They lost to a very average Northern Cass team by 15 and to Central Cass by 20 (two minutes into the second quarter FSHP was actually down 24 - 6, in other words, it was never a close game).

As far as Linton goes, I am looking forward to the double-header with Central Cass coming up in a few weeks!

My daughter graduated last year, so I don't go to every game, just home games. From what I've seen District 3 is very, very weak this year! Central Valley has the Henningards but they are to small, Thompson and Dakota Praire each have two player to watch, but again they are also a small team. I thought that Hatton/Northwood was going to be one of the teams to watch. It looks like every team in the District lost thier best players and are all in a re-biulding year. The younger girls (8th - 10th grade) look pretty talented; it will be interesting to see them in two years!
