Region 7 Tournaments

Postby fish » Mon Feb 23, 2009 11:31 pm

Here are the results from Region 7 tonight, sorry but i do not have the EXACT scores . . .

#1 Hazen over #4 (Cinderella) Heart River- By 30

#2 New England over #3 Beulah- By about 6, very good ball game!

#2 Dickinson Trinity over #3 Bowman- By about 10. Very close until the final minutes!

#1 Beach over #4 Killdeer- By about 12 points, however, Killdeer was winning into the 3rd quarter! Very good game and Killdeer almost knocked the Buc's out of the tournament!

GAMES TOMORROW

#1 Hazen vs. #2 New England

#2 Dickinson Trinity vs. #1 Beach

Any thoughts, predictions?

I am going for the underdog in the first one, Hazen is rated number 1 and undefeated, however these two teams have not met this year, and at one time New England was also rated! New England comes out strong and Hazen has a bit of an off night! I got New England by 5.

In game two, these teams have played twice and each team holds a win from one of the meetings! I think Beach is just to quick, strong, and aggressive! They want it bad and beat a feisty Trinity on their home court by 6.

Hazen beat New England 63 to 58, pretty sloppy game with a lot of turnovers.

Tonight's Results
#1 Hazen vs. #2 New England- What seemed like a run away for the Bison in the 3rd quarter, turned out to be a fight for their lives, as New England pulled within two points in the final minutes. However, the Bison were to strong and advance to the championship!

#2 Dickinson Trinity vs. #! Beach- In this game it appeared that Beach would advance until late in the 2nd quarter when Trinity picked up the intensity and held Beach scoreless for over 6 minutes in the fourth quarter. Trinity ended up pulling away and winning by 12, however, look for the young Bucaneers to return all their starters and LIKELY TAKE THE REGION NEXT YEAR!

So, the games are over and the scores are final! It seems like we will see a rematch of the District 14 Girls Basketball Tournament in the Regional Championship on Thursday!

#2 Dickinson Trinity will face the #1 Hazen Bison . .. . .. . Who will advance to state?

Then in the 3rd place game, fans will be allowed to see a rematch of the District 13 Girls Basketball Tournament as New England faces off with Beach!

#1 Beach vs. #2 New England . . . will the outcome be the same?

With 1:45 to go in the third Trinity trailed 45-33 before going on a 25-0 point run. The Titans trailed by one after three and held the Buc's to two points in the last 11 minutes of play..
