Should be a pretty close game I'm thinking, both teams combined have a record of 26-3 and all 3 of those losses are to NR-S.

I went to this game, and the end result didn't surprise me as much that Harvey won, but that Carrington was as ice-cold shooting as they were. I thought there might have been something to the foul disparity, as Harvey went to the line much more than Carrington did. (Not saying that to defend Carrington, of course...) I think it really affected how aggressive the Cards could afford to play on defense. When they pressed Harvey in the first half, they were generally successful. Once Carrington got into foul trouble (Hetle eventually fouled out, and Klein and Thompson played a majority of the fourth quarter with four fouls) Harvey's inside game (Lorenz and Nyhus) took over.

I think Harvey learned a lot about themselves and their potential in this game. On the flip side, this might be the wake-up call that Carrington needs to refocus and finish strong before the District 7 tournament in New Rockford. Should be a fun one! :D

The fact that Carrington pressed says that they were aggressive on defense. Also, to add to that, Harvey shot like 26-35 from the line so that shows they can make free throws. Also, both teams had a lot of turnovers which proves it was an aggressive game and that Harvey just played better and outrebounded the Cardinals. This is sure to bounce the Cardinals out of the top 10 and put Harvey into the top 10.

Also, is it Harvey's or Carringtons fault for fouling? Maybe it's just me but I always thought that fouling is part of the game and not an excuse for losing...I think it's a little rude to say that the only reason Harvey won is because Carrington fouled a lot and didn't make shots....That's just me however.

It was not my intention to make it sound like the determining factor in the outcome of this game was fouls or poor shooting. If that was what was implied, I apologize for making such a simplistic argument. The last thing I want to be when I post to this site is rude or antagonistic to anyone.

You could point to a myriad of factors on why the game turned out the way it did, but when it's all said and done, Harvey came up with a big district victory and deserves the proper kudos for doing so.

i was at this game and what a game it was. harvey was in control for most of the entire game. one thing that stood out to me at the game was the cheering . the harvey kids were legit. they didnt stop cheering the whole game while the carrington kids just sat there in disgust. i think that played a role in the game also. i dont know just my thinking.

I might have taken it a little too far...haha sorry about that, but I just think to say that Carrington got in foul trouble and that's the reason they lost takes away that Harvey outplayed them.

I was also there and i agree with you 100%. I think the hornet fans had the whole carrington crew lose focus of the game. Should be really interesting come tourney time when harvey brings a crowd like this to the area. Keep it up girls!
