Region 7

The Bowman powerhouse has come to an end. Who's going to take their place?

I believe Bowman still has some very talented girls but has several with very limited experience and albilities. They may not be number one but will still give teams a few headaches. Beach will make a big splash this year especially because of the return the infamous Coach Waldahl.

My bets are the regional championship game being between Beach and Trinity! Beach should likely win easily if they play ball like they can! I do not really see New England having a shot an winning the Region, they are going to be an above average team, however they do not have much experience playing at the Regional level. Last year was the first time in long while that they advanced to regionals!

1. Beach
2. Trinity
3. Hazen
4. Hettinger

Actually Beach has been at the regionals the past 2 years. They lost a opening round match to the Kayla Schmidt led Beulah team 2 years ago and made it past the 1st round last year. Experience is everything with their younger girls getting better. I would not count out Hazen led by Leland Opp this year or Beulah with a new coach Jim Petrik.

Beulah is a team with a lot of seniors. If Petrik can get them to play together they could take regionals. Hazen is still very low on seniors, but is loaded in the junior class with Opp's daughter, Alison, and Stef Bohrer, both very tall and good players.

Congrats to Coach John Butterfield getting his 200th career victory leading the young Hettinger Lady Devils (4-0) over the Trinity JV to the Mott Invitational championship.

That is pretty impressive..Trinity didn't have alot of their starters for the game though because they went up to Minot for the varsity tournament. I say Beach and Trinity in regional title, but who knows who's gonna win it

I attended the Heart River vs. Trinity game last night and it wasn't even a contest. Trinity looks really good, even when they have a couple sophomores in the game.... They should be really good when Ernst comes back from injury. I'm looking forward to watching them play Beach on January 6th.
