Don't forget about Caitlyn Stein. She was out the first part of the season with mono, but is back now and really contributing. And the Pirates have outscored their opponents 212-106 in the last three games. Go Pirates!

I forgot to answer the question on their potential should they get to state. From what I have seen so far I think Region 6 and Region 7 are the ones to beat. Region 6 has Bottineau and Kenmare and Region 7 has Bowman and Dickinson Trinity. Those are 4 very good basketball teams. Also, I noticed Steele-Dawson, in Region 3, beat a very good Bismarck JV team by 11. Alot of those JV girls sub for the varsity and the varsity as you know is ranked #1 in State A. I still think Grafton out of Region 2 could be formidable as well.

I am a Region 1 resident so I think I am being pretty objective. I think whoever the Region 1 rep is, I think their best shot is for fifth - but you know how opinions are - everyone has one.

Central Cass just handed the Pirates their first loss of the season, 53 - 48.

They lost by 2. Not sure on the final score, but the Pirates blew a fairly decent lead...

It was probably a good loss for Hankinson...they hopefully learned not to take for granted that a big lead guarantees a sure win...And Summit is the #1 ranked team in Class B in South Dakota. Hopefully, they will not lose any more close ones!

Go Pirates~!

From seeing all the teams play so far, Fairmount is the team to beat. They have been playing very well lately, better than when the season started. I don't see Hankinson girls beating them for they get back on defense where Hankinson scores alot of their points, (fast break) and they stay out of foul trouble, where Hankinson has pulled away from teams this year when their opponent gets in trouble. Lidgerwood is not good enough to give either team a struggle, Lisbon is better than Lidgerwood this year, in my opinion.

They were both out of town and did not play.

I don't think anyone should or will take them for granted, they have beat everyone in their district, it all depends on how they play (and if those 3 point shots fall in the hoop!)

What are your predictions for the Hankinson game tonight? How do you think they will do?

Central Cass beat Hankinson back on January 15, 53-48 (Hankinson's first loss of the season). I think it's going to be another barn burner tonight. Hopefully Central Cass can keep up their tough defense and deliberate offense tonight. It should be a good one!

it will be a real interesting game. I know casselton won earlier, but I think they might be a year away from really making some noise. I think Hankinson gets this one, but I could see this going an extra 4 minutes.
