R5 is wrong (seeds 6-8)…NDHSAA has the correct bracket (C-S is #6, NS-A is #7 and W-W is #8)

Anyone see any upsets in any of the Region tournaments?

R1 - I like CC. Maybe NC could pull off an upset.
R2 - I like Thompson over MPCG. I think Grafton or MPCG could beat Thompson though.
R3 - I would take Carrington. EKM, Oakes, and maybe KC are good enough to win it.
R4 - I like Langdon. Too much talent and experience compared to the other top teams.
R5 - Shiloh is the favorite and my pick. I've been impressed when I watched them.
R6 - I like Rugby.
R7 - I'm not really sure, but Bowman looks like the likely team.
R8 - Kenmare. I think they're a really good team in a weak region.

I would love to see Garrison or CM make it out of Region 5. Haven't seen any of those teams plays, but it would be nice to have a new team make the jump this season.

There could be a surprise upset in Region 4. Langdon is not quite as dominant as before, but definitely the top team. I could see FWM or SJ possibly pull off an upset.

Region 1 - Central Cass
Region 2 - Thompson
Region 3 - Oakes
Region 4 - Langdon
Region 5 - Central McLean
Region 6 - Rugby
Region 7 - Bowman County
Region 8 - Kenmare

St. John possibly could make it out of Region 4. In Region 5 Shiloh, Garrison, and CM beat each other. But I think it will be a rematch from a year ago in the title game.

Well it'll have to be one or the other in R4 in the semifinals.

The problem for R5 is that Shiloh is going to likely get a tired team in the championship as Garrison & CM will have a 'slugfest' semifinal where as Shiloh will have an easier opponent (either Washburn or SR).

Just my thoughts on those too but yes a new R5 team would be nice; NP & NR-S aren't slouches in R4 either...maybe NR-S can make a run like they did in VB.

Why would the 4 or 5 seed be more likely to upset Langdon?

I just feel those two teams can give LEM fits more than NP and NRS have the ability to.

Southbound I29 from Grand Forks to Buxton is closed. Half the teams in region 2 have to take that to get home.

Seems to be a lot of blowouts in the games that were played today. Weather is definitely going to be a factor in getting these tournaments in.

Tri-State didn't make the trip to Fargo for the late game tonight...but Tri-State did host a SD boys team today; not sure how you can justify not making the trip to Fargo (totally get it...shouldn't come) with making another team travel to you. This isn't the first time this scenario has happened either.

I think round blowouts are common place
It is a little harder to motivate kids I guess because they’ve been pampered so much. We’re in the trophy generation, give ‘em a trophy for 23rd place, make ‘em feel good. Make mom and dad feel good.” Tom Izzo, Michigan State Basketball

How did they make another team travel to them? It’s always the traveling teams choice whether to travel or not.

I drove I29 this afternoon from Sisseton to Fargo and it was very, very bad. Visibility was zero at times, there was a strong NW wind that blew semi trailers around, and the roads were extremely ice.

Wouldn't have mattered, other years yes. As we all know it's Shiloh's last year in Class B. Good luck at state. We will see you next year Garrison.

Good thing Rugby will be out of 6 next year...should give the Minot Privates an easier road to the B!

Garrison needed to do a better job of storming the court...folks act like you've been there before!

Just asking questions because I do not know. Wasn't it the Garrison Super that said they were going to sue the NDHSAA if they did not go to 3 classes because their teams could not be competitive and they soon would not be able to get kids to go out for basketball? Also didn't Hailey Quam play for Garrison a few years ago before she went to Shiloh?

Quam was at Wilton-Wing.
I think you're right about the Garrison superintendent.

That's exactly the case. Just like LAE can't compete in the middle class, but have been to state the last 6 years in girls. DL''s girls too.

But what ya have to understand is, no one put a seconds worth of thought or cared in the least about the girls end of this. This was 100% about boys.
