Please explain in more depth. I giggled a bit, but I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. I'm not in the EDC, so their tournament protocol is unfamiliar to me.

Understand that several gyms were available, but this was the best they could do to save money.

Also, add to it:

According to a very good source, Davies hockey team faced a difficult choice during the state tournament.

They played a state tournament game at 9 a.m. in the consolation semis on Friday. The game ended at 10:54. They were told that, if they returned to Fargo right away, they would have to go back to school and finish the day.

It was the state freakin tournament.

It is true. If the Davies boys Hockey team went back to Fargo on Friday of the state tournament they were told that they had to go back to class. Also the Davies boys had to load the bus at 6:45am on Thursday, 5:45am on Friday and 6:45am on Saturday because they couldn’t stay overnight. The best memories of a state tournament is getting to know players from other teams hanging around the pool at the Hotel. Having to go home every night does not make for a good state tournament experience.

I don't know what Fargo's school budget is, but I would think hotel rooms for a team for two nights won't break the bank.

Smells like micro-management of "school time" again, likely by a pushy school board member.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I think it's ridiculous that they didn't have hotel rooms and spend the whole tournament in Grand Forks. But, if they are going to return to Fargo, they evidently don't think attending the state tournament is a huge deal. Get your butts back in the classroom.
