I think Watford City is the team to beat this year in the State...just my opinion though

I would still pay attention to Bishop Ryan. They work year round for it and are very well coached and obviously have a fan base that is fire up. They will be young but that's when their last run started. They will have another Stewart, Rovig, and Harmon on the team and have three 6 foot girls again. I think they will give Rugby a run in Region 6. This team could also really struggle but they may also make a lot of noise.

Park River is another team that should be on this list.

Three teams from Region 2? No.

What I would like to see is, if someone has the Hoopster, a listing of the Top 25.

Since the Hoopster Ranking isn't quite a 'true' ranking because the Top 8 are the predicted Region winners ranked from 1 through 8.

Park River returns just about everyone from the team that lost in the Region Finals

I understand the Hoopster rankings. That doesn't change my earlier statement.

Maybe you name of teams you think should be in the top ten, rather than just saying now. Those 3 teams IMO are 3 top 10 teams in the state. Might be teams 8/9/10 idk but they are 3 top teams.

well I shortened your name there...so I was stating "no [go] maji". I'm going to assume the Turtle Mountain listing was supposed to say Turtle Lake-MM...easy to check that:

ndlionsfan - is TLMM listed after Shiloh in the ranking for Region 5? If they are then they are likely the 26th team.

I think region 4 that Northstar is the favorite but may not be the lock to win this region. I see that they have Benson county listed as next closest competition to Northstar but I was thinking Langdon would have been next closest to NorthStar. I know Benson county is returning several very good players from last year but they also lost one of their leaders Anne Jorgenson from last year. Langdon is returning their whole team from last year and they did push Northstar last year district tournament. I just think they are going to be very good team and will have large amount of depth at each position. The extra year should help them to develop and I think they could be real contender by end of the year.

Actually, RW is listed as #2 in the region, then BC followed by Langdon. I do agree with you, though. I think Langdon will be a very good team and that both them and RW will challenge North Star. I see those three teams ahead of anyone in Dist 7 and I think Dist 7 is up for grabs.

I forgot about RW and you're right they are going to be one of the top contending teams with Wittmayer back healthy for this year. If I remember they have couple of other girls to compliment her so they should be contender. District 7 will be down this year but I think Benson county should be top team in the district but Lakota-Edmore will be respectable this year they do have enough talent left even after Freije and other 5 girls graduated this past year. I think they could contend for the district but will behind other district 8 teams.

I'm pretty sure Region 4 is now a super region... so no district 7 and 8.

Just for volleyball I believe. I heard when they get down to 12 teams in bball then they will go to super region format. Warwick does not have a vball team so there are only 6 teams in each district, but district 7 has 7 for bball.

Thoughts on region 1?
IMO FCT's region to lose. How long is Graff out for Kindred I remember her being in a cast late in the volleyball season. MV will go as far as Nudell will carry them. CC returns a good group if I remember right.

FCT has a great core of 4 but they are gonna need a couple more to give them good minutes. Central Cass always reloads & this year they picked up another good player moving into town. I think those 2 will be the cream of the crop. Drops off from there. Nudell will win some games but nobody wins chpionships with 1 good player.

I just saw Richland beat FCT on tv. It's quite odd to see small school sports on tv. Where did this BEK program come from? Where do they get the funding? Just curious considering I've never seen anything like it. It's quite awesome to be able to see high school sports on tv, especially from the small towns.

I was at the Hankinson Maple Valley game. Hankinson did an okay job on Nudell my guess is she had betwwen 20-23 never saw a box score. Seemed like two fairly even teams MV shot terrible from the FT line. The richland FCT game seems interresting to me is Richland that good or was FCT off just a bit.

Richland has done an amazing job of turning around a team that just a couple of years ago went winless. They have earned their place among Region 1 elite through hard work and lots and lots of time shooting.

Richland IS that good.
