Oh I'm sure they can hang with over half of the Class A teams this year

Word is the West Fargo scrimmage was played more like a game than a scrimmage and Ryan won soundly.

Run 4 must be referring to the top half of the A.

saw the Thompson HCV game, and Thompson had a decent lead beginning of 4th(most of the game to) and towards the middle of the 4th Thompson's coach put 2 starters on the bench(look like to give them a breather) and started to play keep away, and then HCV came back within a couple. Well, 2 starters came back in and Thompson started to run the offense again and pulled away. This game was actually one sided most of the game. HCV only had one shooter/ball handler and she hardly scored. P.S the Thompson player that was hurt at state VBALL got to see some time at the end, but what I heard she is has some rehab time yet to go, and she is a important player for rebounds and points according to last yrs stats. One thing I did notice though, Thompson appears not to be playing team ball again, about a 2/3rds of the Thompson's TO's were caused by selfish play, they need to stop that if they plan on beating Bishop at state. I've seen 6 ND games so far,2 Thompson ones, and they have the best defense and rebounding in class "b" so far. Watched a Beach game and they have a decent shooting team, but I noticed they got tired right away, maybe it was just a bad night to. But they look pretty good to. I have a feeling Bishop wouldn't win the state this year though. they have only played one team that is good, and come tourney time, they may not be mentally strong enough. Hey why is Lakota/Edmore even on this list? Not overall impressed with them at all, basically they have one shooter and that's it. Defense will win that battle every time.

I haven't seen a lot of games this year but in my opinion L/E is a solid TEAM. They do have a great player but they also are coming around as a TEAM. Looking at the schedule I can see why they are on the list. Lost a close one to Thompson, Lost to #1 Bishop and to class A Valley City by 11. They also have beat a good Carrington team twice by a combined 26 pts. But we will see how the season plays out. Lot of good teams in region 4.

Final point spread was 12, it was 2 after 1 quarter, hardly one sided. HCV was down by 1 with just over 5 min to play and the go ahead bucket rimmed out. Rebounding, especially offensive put-backs was a huge advantage for Thompson, but also something that can be remedied for the next match-up.(And there could be up to 3 more match-ups this season) HCV had 1 shooter/ ball handler who hardly scored? Really? Both teams had 2 players who scored mid to upper teens, and probably others who were well below their average for both teams. That happens when you have a lower scoring, defensive game as both teams usually put up considerably more points than they did in that contest. PS surprised you watched the game as a whole,as in Thompson not playing as a team, considering you were only there to scout one of the top 2 players in the state. No mention of that in your post, or did you finally give up on the notion that someone believed that nonsense from the get-go?

yes there will be up to 3 more matchups. But regarding team ball, I hardly call a person that dribbles from one end to the other and try's to dribble between 3 defenders and attempt to shoot the ball(while the guards are wide open) playing team ball, and every time that person did, they turned the ball over(I think it was 3 times in a row) . Thompson started to play keep away in the middle of the 4th quarter, and they turned the ball over almost every time, well as soon as those 2 starters came back in and they started the offense again, they pulled away, so they wouldn't have done the keep away, I think the score would have been by 15-20 , hey maybe BOTH coach's were holding something back to. But HVC has some players, but scoring wise, just one, I remind people defense will trump a team with one shooter anytime.

Hard to say. Hasn't mentioned much about his scouting lately, but is posting plenty about his favorite team while bashing any other team that isn't his favorite. Not sure if that is a good thing or not....where else can we get that regular dose of comic relief for free?

Your contradicting of yourself and lack of logic are laughable. According to the GF Herald, HCV had 5 players scoring, 17,16 and then 3 others with between 2 and 6-8 pts. Thompson had 7 players in the box score, 18,16 and then 5 players that also had 2-8 pts. So I am curious as to which one of HCV's players was the "only scorer", the one with 17 or 16 pts? Likewise, which one of Thompson's was their only scorer since their top 2 had essentially the same output? Works both ways here. To use one of your very own quotes "numbers don't lie" And why are you concerned with who is scoring when you only scout (insert sarcasm here) for defense and rebounding and the other intangibles of the game. According to Run's last post on team statistics, both teams were averaging about 62 ppg. And both teams held each other well below that average. Maybe you should talk to the coaches and see if they were holding something back. I am sure they would be more than honored to talk to a high ranked recruiter. Now I am also curious how a team plays keep away for more than half a quarter when a shot clock is in effect? Granted, a team can use up the majority of that 35 secs before taking a shot, but if they are turning the ball over long before the 35 secs does that still constitute keep away? Perhaps the turnovers that were being committed by the team playing keep away were actually caused by the opposition stepping up the defense and turning them into points at the other end. I find it utterly amazing how you "claim" to be from MN, yet you are an expert on ND class B ball when you have seen 6 games this year. You say you have watched 5 of the 10 currently ranked teams and from that 1 game you can make the assumption that 1) L/E and HCV both have only one scorer when boxscores on any given night can prove otherwise. 2) Beach is decent but too tired 3) Bishop can't repeat because they lack the mental toughness to do so 4) from 2 games you can tell Thompson has the best defense and rebounding in all of class B and as long as they quit being selfish and play team ball AGAIN no one can stop them. The season is young. There are a lot of very good teams out there ranked and not ranked. It will boil down to who is playing the best ball consistently come tournament time. I know you have better insight into all of this than the average follower, but we all can't have that special gift for assessing talent...... that is reserved for the recruiters right?

Not a huge believer in polls, but I feel the media missed the boat on Central Cass this week.

How do you beat #5 ranked Fairmont/CT by 24 and get knocked out of the polls top 10.

Did I miss something??

Central Cass also lost to Northern Cass by 1 last week, that probably did them in. IMO, FCT should have never been in the polls and I am surprised they are still there due to their poor showing against CC. Yes, they were undefeated, but who had they played? They were not impressive.

The loss to Northern Cass definitely weighed heavier than the win over FCT. I, too, was shocked to see FCT still stayed in the poll (thought they would fall to receiving votes). FCT is a team that falls into the case that not many people see so the media just goes off of record.
