Looks like Benson county is at top by early season record. Question is Midkota going to be missing some girls because of injury for whole season or are they going to return later in the season. I think Carrington is going to be there at the end of season and could end up winning the region. They have some big physical girls that can match up well against Benson county and Lakota AE. Lakota AE is not very deep this year like last year and i think as season progresses this is going to show up. But i do think that Benson County, LakotaAE, Midkota, and Carrington on given night can beat each other so should be interesting year.

North Star and Rolla should be there also...it will be a well fought region (just like VB).

1. Benson County
2. Lakota-Adams-Edmore
3. North Star
4. Carrington
5. Rolla
6. Midkota

7. Harvey-Wells County
8. Langdon
9. Rolette-Wolford
10. New Rockford-Sheyenne
11. Starkweather-Munich

12. St. John
13. Four Winds-Minnewaukan
14. Warwick

Top 6 is really anyone's guess and could change as the season goes. After that, though, there is a big drop off to the rest of the region. Region 4 teams might not show up in the polls much during the season because they are going to keep knocking each other off, but is probably one of the most balanced regions and whoever comes out of it will be battle tested for the state tourney.

Like you said the top 6 teams on given night can beat each other. It will come down to who puts together 3 nites of basketball in the region tournament and luck of the draw where some teams match up better against one another than they do against some of other teams. I still think Benson County, Lakota adam edmore, and Carrington between the 3 will be playing for the region championship. This is barring any major injuries or sickness to these teams heading into tournament play.

North Star beat Benson, lost to Carrington by only 1, and to Rolla by 4. They are also in the mix.

Big game in District 8 tonight with Rolla at home to Benson County. If BC wins, its a 3 way tie for the #1 seed for the 2nd year in a row between them, Rolla, and Northstar. NS beat BC by 5 in OT and lost to Rolla by 4. I'm guessing the tiebreaker is the point spread, so Northstar is currently at +1, Rolla +4, and BC -5. So I'm assuming if BC wins by 7+ they have #1, then Rolla #2 and Northstar #3 based on head to head. If BC wins by less than 7, I think Northstar #1, BC #2, and Rolla #3. BC did beat Rolla by 13 in the CNDC championship back in December.

This is shaking out to be one of the most competetive Regional Tournaments in the State. Benson County is probably the favorite. Carrington has beaten North Star, Midkota, split with Lakota and plays Benson next week.

Anyone of those top 6 listed could be there in the end as it seems everyone is beating anyone on a given night. Semifinal night should be a great night of basketball.

Carrington suffered a huge loss last week with the loss of point guard Josey Page. (knee) They have some excellent depth, but don't know if they can overcome the loss of Page.
