I noticed that according to the records posted above, 17 teams have records at or below .500 and they are in the Regional Tournament. (R1- 2, R2 - 4, R3 - 2, R4 - 1, R5 - 3, R6 - 1, R7 - 4, R8 - 0) Thats about 27% of the teams still alive in Class B Girls BB. Just an observation.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, I was simply making an observation - don't be so quick to get all defensive. I am assuming that some of them may have been missing kids earlier in the season (injuries, illness, etc...), some have improved as the season went on and some pulled off an upset (good for them) to get into the Regionals. However they got in, they are now only 3 wins away from the "Big Dance" and anything can happen - Good luck to all teams.

I think that is the beauty of Class B basketball. any team can make a run at any time. Injuries and Illness effect a smaller school than a larger one when you lose a single athlete during the year. Since only 1 team comes out of the region, why not have the possibility of an upset with a .500 team?

Still will be a tough road for Velva to get by Ryan without their top scorer out and the other one not at top performance.

I was at the Velva vs DL-B game last night, and Velva definitely had a tough time. I think they were actually down by 2 or tied at the end of the 3rd qtr. Emma Keller played, but you could see that she doesn't have much quickness in her legs right now. She was able to hit shots when left open, but couldn't go to the hole with much success. Jaylen Newman is out, and since she would be Velva's tallest player they're really going to have problems with Ryan's two 6-1 girls.

Region 8 semi's: Watford City 53 New Town 56. NT will play the winner of Parshall vs Plaza/North Shore. I'm not one to rag on refs but . The reffing was terrible for both teams altho (and I'm partisan here) it seemed the refs did their best to ensure a watford win...
