Congrats to Coach Herman from Ellendale!

Very well deserved, graduated a bunch of very good seniors and had the Cardinals back in the championship game. Still a relatively young group, they will miss their graduating Seniors again but have a bunch of solid underclassman. Coach Herman and his staff have done a great job turning that program around. Ellendale is awfully proud of the Cardinals!

What happens at the next level when there is "co" athletes of the year? Does just one get selected to move on after regionals?

During Regions they vote on a Region Senior Athlete from the names that were honored as District Senior Athletes. It is a possibility to have Co-Region Senior Athletes but I don't think it happens very often.

So, in Dist. 3 and Dist 7, the coaches vote for 1 of the 3 correct? Most votes moves on? I would think this may hurt the "Co" atheletes as their votes could get split amoungst the District coaches they represent...

IN REGION 2 and REGION 4 the coaches would vote on 1 of the 3 senior athletes...and yes, it likely could hurt the co-athletes. However, the other district coaches may feel that one of those is more deserving than the other two under consideration.

Brandy Messner's team is not playing at regionals. So here are her stats,21ppg.10.9rpg.3.1apg.3.5spg.1.9blks. She ended with 1704 pts.and 836 rbs. She shot 55.7% from the floor making it 54% for her career. She has a scholarship to play ball at Minot State University who will be a DII school next year and will play in the Northern Sun conference.

Mack won Region 3 coach of the year. Very deserving-- I think they won 11 of their last 14 games. That team played impressively against Napoleon. Congratulations.
