I'm guessing Napoleon breezes through this tournament. Be interesting to see what Midkota can do with them in the finals.

THere you have it: Napoleon vs. Midkota in the final...

Napoleon 76 E-K 17- I didn't get to this game.
Ellendale 44 PBK 32 (closer game than score indicates. Ellendale shot 17/64 but rebounded well enough to stay in the game).

PBK over EK 51-38
LaMoure over CP 49-27
Napoleon over Ellendale 74-65
Midkota over SB 62-38

7th place game: EK vs. CP
5th place game: LaMoure vs. PBK
3rd place game: Ellendale vs. SB
Title: Midkota vs. Napoleon
After listening to all the games, I think the title game should be a good one. Ellendale and Napoleon was pretty close. I don't think they've played in the season yet. Should be a good rematch.

It looks like Ellendale put up a bit more of a fight than you anticipated. Napoleon didnt exactly "breeze through" last night.

"There you have it: Napoleon vs. Midkota in the final..."

Was it a 9 point nail biter?

Can Midkota stay with Napoleon up and down the court tonight? Thoughts anyone? Napoleon is a tough team to slow down and I think Midkota will have to slow them down tonight for it to be a game.

Not sure where it was said it was a nail biter but you had made the "breeze through" comment. Ellendale is better than people think.

I dont see Midkota being able to slow Napoleon down enough. Imperials by 8-10. Ellendale over South Border in the 3rd place game.

Listening to the game on the radio, I think Ellendale put a little scare into Napolean and the rest of the region. They can run with Nap. no problem. The fact that Nap. scored so many points off turnovers and they only won by 9 should tell you something NodakQ2. I understand why you would think Nap. would blow through this but I think Ellendale just proved you wrong. A team lead by mostly inexperienced sophomores. It was close most of the way through and it was a "nail biter" I anticipate the next meeting between these two teams to be quite a game. If Ellendale does better on Napolean's press and it gets back on D more consistently and on the flipside if Napolean rebounds better.

Ellendale really has me confused...Hanging with Napoleon like they did, but having a relatively close game with PBK the night before? Especially confusing if they in fact can run with Napoleon. If I am not mistaken, Carrington's B squad beat PBK Varsity by almost 20, and Carrington's B Squad is not a great team.

My guess is that Napoleon had an "off night" against Ellendale, much like Ellendale had an "off night" against PBK.

Sophomores leading Elllendale? That is impressive...Looks good for the next couple years for Ellendale and probably explains their "highs and lows" a little better. Napoleon looks tough at least through next year as well being led by mostly Jr's...Makes for exciting Regional Tournaments!

That's a fairly good assessment NodakQ2 although I wouldnt call shooting 60% & your stud (Dewald) putting up 27 an "off night" napolean had a great night with the Dewald and role players lighting it up and ellendale played well too and only lost by a slim margin to give some perspective. I know ellendale can play better and compete ...PBK was a tough night shooting for ellendale as they previously beat PBK by 30 a few days prior. And thank you EHS!

Ok...That makes more sense...(The game a few days prior) Ellendale appears to have played very well against Napoleon. Like I said, makes for a great region with Linton, Napoleon AND Ellendale in the mix.

I either listened or attended all games...and after seeing Midkota, I was really looking forward to them meeting up with Napoleon. Congrats to the Mustangs. Tough team and great 'ship game! I believe they have made it to the semis the last couple of years (to the 'ship 3 years ago and to the semi's the last 2 maybe? Just a guess). I think Carrington was in it that year and they got 2nd. Long over due win! Good job.

In response to the Ellendale talk...have to agree with Nemesis and EHS. I was checking stats and it looked like they had 4-5 different trey shooters (not all starters). That's tough to defend IMO. If they can maintain solid, 'team' attitudes, they are going to be tough. I was impressed with a couple of their guards- and Vance does a nice job in the post. She moves to the basket well and stronger than last year. The young Fuller & Herman have nice shots- even their center will pop out and hit the 3. I look forward to Regionals this year for them.
I watched the Ellendale/ PBK game and it seemed as if they weren't playing as much like a team (not to mention shooting something like 17/64 from the field).
The Napoleon/Ellendale rematch should be a good one.

What was the tempo of the championship game? Was Midkota able to slow it down? Honestly, I've seen both Napoleon and Midkota play this year and didn't think there was anyway Midkota would keep up. That's why they play'em...Congrats to the Mustangs!

Hats off to Midkota for playing with an incredible amount of composure. Napoleon started in a zone and Midkota shot the lights out and was up early by about 10. Nap went man and Mid was able to withstand every Nap run. Mid handled the press with composure. Nap cut it to 4 early in the 4th but it was an 8-10 pt margin most of the game. Mid shot well and rebounded well. Nap appeared to shoot nowhere near what they did on Friday. Midkota made a statement last night.

PBK did not play Carrington with their Varsity. They held out their 2 Seniors and another starter was out with a broken hand so it was a legal JV game. Off the bench for PBK on their JV is 8th graders so they cannot even come close to competing with Carringtons JV. As for the Ellendale game, PBK's big girl was on the bench in the first 2 minutes of the first game and they had 11 turnovers in the first quarter. Down by 20 right away. They played a more slow down game the second game. Ellendale didn't shoot as well the second game but PBK only shot 28% for the game. 11% the second half. Ellendale dominated the boards the second game and thats what won it for them. Very impressed with their team though

Thanks for clarifying...Looks like Midkota will make some noise in Region 4!
