I've been asked twice now on the what the State Pairings are for this year...so I figured I'd start a thread to post the pairings and to start up mid-season discussions.

Region 5 vs. Region 8
Region 2 vs. Region 4
Region 3 vs. Region 6
Region 1 vs. Region 7

Region 4 will be Carrington. NO ONE in that region will touch that team.

I agree...I just figured I'd list the next closest team.

Its still early, but I don't see anyone in Region 7 pushing them this year.

Carrington is definitely the favorite in region 4, but if Thompson is unable to return, I think Midkota and Langdon may give them a good game. They have the big game experience from VB and have guards who can shoot and defend.

I don't think any team can hang with Carrington from R4 even if Thompson doesn't come back (she will tho).
Midkota could maybe maybe maybe hang within 10 on their best night, and there is just no way Langdon could beat them. I watched them play last week and they aren't on the same level as Carrington.

No question they are the favorite, with or without Thompson. Her being hurt only is making them better. The two young girls backing her up are getting time on the court they wouldn't have gotten. I agree Langdon has no chance, no size.

ANother thing Grafton and Carrington in the first round is bad luck for one of them.

Langdon is struggling right now. Lost two starters for the year to knee injuries. They dont have enough depth, playing some young girls with Dinius and Hart right now. They will get better as year progresses.

Not that Carrington is probably going to get beat, but look out for BC come tourney time. They've got a young team that has a lot of experience and a new girl in the post now who put in 18 in her first game. Probably not going to challenge too much for the trip to state this year, but should be right their for the district crown and get some valuable experience in big games this post season. Next year could be their year.

Didn't realize Langdon lost those two starters, just seen Dinius and Hart had been scoring quite a bit together. In region 2, I'm picking Thompson over Grafton.

Let's see who wins between Thompson and cv next Friday before crowning the tommies. And yes I know grafton bushwacked cv this week, but then again Thompson did the same thing to grafton last year yet lost 4 times to cv. Grafton is the clear favorite but I think both cv and thompson can beat them.

That region is a tough one to call. NOne of the teams rely on an inside game even though the Thompson girl from Grafton is not bad. They are all guard dominate teams that rely on the defense and outside shooting. I still rank them Grafton-Thompson-Central Valley but anything can happen.

Thompson from Carrington is expected to play a few mins here and there I believe Friday against CC in Carrington. Velva comes to town Monday don't know anything about them maybe they'll give Carrington a test I don't know.

Cv over Thompson 61-56. Great execution down the stretch by cv waac the difference.

Region 1 - Gotta go with Central Cass, but not a "shoe in".
Region 2 - Grafton, Thompson, CV - A toss up but Grafton has to be the favorite
Region 3 - I'll got with Napoleon over Linton HMB
REgion 4 - Carrington - but maybe not as easy as some think.
Region 5 - Grant Co.
Region 6 - I'll go with Velva over Ryan.
Region 7 - Beach
Region 8 - New Town

Looks like Midkota had the big game experience and guards who could shoot and defend tonight.
