I see Carrington plays Velva and Central Cass next week. One way or another, the list will be shorter by the end of next week!

Northern Cass has played a weak schedule so far. They won't be undefeated for long.

They should stay undefeated until at least January 12th (potential Barnes County Tourney semifinal matchup with Maple Valley)...but no longer than the 17th (at Thompson)

Its possible...Maple Valley is a much improved program.

I could see Northern Cass @ Enderlin being a tough matchup for the Jaguars.

Central Cass has a few tough games scheduled. Probably will lose a couple of times with that tough of a schedule! Do you think it could help Central Cass to have such tough games or hurt them in the long run?

It didn't hurt Carrington last year. During the year they lost to Beach, Kenmare and Central Cass. In the "B" they beat Kenmare in the semi-finals after Kenmare beat Beach in the quarters and beat Central Cass in the finals.

This year they play a similar schedule. I think it only helps for the "big" games in the end.

It doesn't hurt anything to lose a game or two during the season. Central Cass will be a lot better come tournament time by playing tough teams... you don't really learn anything when you are beating a team by 30+ points. I am personally glad that CC decided to drop a few perennially bad teams from their schedule to pick up some challenging ones. It will only help them down the stretch.

The ONLY downside I see to a tougher schedule, is that if you run the table during the regular season with that tough a schedule, it MAY put some pressure on you to beat those teams again later. But to me that is the only downside. To me the positives outweigh the negatives.

Looked up some stats on Crookston, MN... they are 7 - 6, but lost by only 6 to Moorhead (not sure how good they are this year, but it's a huge school) and lost by 10 to Grafton. Could be an interesting game.

I definitely think Crookston could win, but CC is more seasoned and played in so many big games I think they are the clear favorite. Crookston underachieved early in the season, but seem to be playing much better as of late. They just beat Bemidji, a decent AAAA school.

What time does this game start? or when does the JV or C squad start?

If Bishop Ryan beats Vevla they have a very good chance of finishing undefeated, as they have a very weak schedule

Crookston has a nice team - no big stars, but lots of girls who play well. I felt we were a better team and even though the score was close, I never really thought we would lose. The girls have played in so many big games (BB and VB), they are always cool and calm under pressure.

I'm sure next week's game against Kindred will not lack in intensity! That one is on Saturday and CC has another big matchup with Linton on Tuesday. Some great BB coming up this week for the Squirrels!

Are they playing Crookston next year? Their best class is easily their freshmen so I see them getting better each of the next 3 years.

I have no idea of they are on the schedule for next year - hope so. I did notice that a lot of their JV players got plenty of varsity minutes. The 6'1" freshman girl was good.

Down to 3...

Central Cass 11-0
New Town 12-0
Kindred 12-0

And Central Cass plays Kindred on Saturday (of course they have to get by Linton first tonight to remain unbeaten). Kindred's schedule is definitely weaker than Central Cass's schedule, but we will find out on Saturday who is the best team at this point of the season! Should be a great game - a huge rivalry considering the battle between these two teams in VB a few months ago.
