Game is being played in Carrington - both teams basically have the same team as last year.

Carrington by 8

You are correct, but Thompson isn't playing tomorrow so I think Grafton is going to come out on top

Based on those at this game are these the two teams to beat? Do any of the other schools have enough to compete and/or beat these top two??

Hard to say yes Grafton is a good team, but Carrington was without Thompson one of there best players so I would like to see what the game would been like if Thompson played.

Carrington still has to face #3 Central Cass (@ Carrington on 1/13/12).

It was Graftons game to have after a slow first quarter. Grafton was down a couple of times by ten and came back. They had a chance to tie the game with a couple of seconds left but a bad pass went off the hands of a player that was wide open. Enough about hearing that Thompson did not play......the two replacements players were very good, they gave Grafton trouble under the basket. Grafton also plays Central Cass, not sure when. Two very good teams!

Is Central Cass comparable to these teams though really after losing 3 starters from last year? Carrington and Grafton lost basically nobody. Hard to think they could recoupe with that good of players the next year to play against the top teams in state again. Ranking of 3rd might be because last season???? CCHA did beat Central Valley ranked 6th at the time I guess though!!

I think Central Cass returns a pretty good group of girls led by Dixon and Breske...and yes Central Cass defeated Central Valley 56-46 @ CV

Enough with the Thompson didn't play? So what would have it been if she did play? If the the two girls off the bench caused problems I'd hate to see what Thompson and one of them big girls would do..

It does make a big difference if Thompson doesnt play. she is the most dominant defensive player in the state. For Carrington to win these games without Thompson shows just how good they will be when she gets back. You dont score in the paint if she is in the game. The Carrington Perimeter defense can overplay and even if you get by them she is standing there. It doesnt matter how well the other girls played with her they are 20 points better.

I know Thompson is good but THAT good? Until last year at the state championship game agains CCHS she was really not a force? In that game with some help from the refs she turned into a nice post player. I think CCHS maybe has that volleyball player, "Dooley" I think her name is that is as tall as Thompson, maybe she can neutralize her???

I agree...Thompson is good but to say she is the most dominant defense player in ND is a stretch. Absolutely she had help in the championship game last year just as Carrington did against Grafton on Wednesday. I bet Grafton would love to play them again even with Thompson....get some neutral officials and a full size court and let the two best teams in the state play again.

She is good player but the Scherr girl had a big game in the state tournament and Rosenau is there best all around player. They are a good team and team is why they are good not because of one player. Not sure they are that much better with her than without her. They have a couple of nice young big girls backing her up. It is hard to tell how good some ot these teams are when they blast teams 70-20 on most nights. In the state tournament she was an over-the-back call in the 3rd quarter from being in foul trouble in the championship game instead they put her at the free-throw line all night and she made the shots. They don't play any different when she is out of the game. You take Rosenau out of the game and that is a totally different team. She does alot of things well that don't show up in the score book.
