You gotta remember, tho, Grafton was 3 pts away from playing in the sunshine bracket, too. At state, games can go either way. Lisbon played terrible in the first round, but after that Grafton played very tough. If they lose that first game, we're talking about another region being dominant.

since 95 for sure region 2 has played in the "sunshine bracket" only twice......region 2 dominates.

There are many other regions that have the same track record. Region 4 has only been in the sunshine bracket 3 times since 95. I'm guessing region 7 has very few appearances there in the same time frame, too.

Lisbon played terrible for obvious reasons: Grafton made them play terrible by playing well.

How many championships other than MPCG??? So is region 2 dominant or was it just MPCG dominant??

Well MPCG has 4, but i would be willing to bet that had the runner up from Region 2 came to state in those years, they would have won it at least twice.

In 2002 any of the top 4 teams North Border, Thompson, MPCG, Fordville-Lankin would of won the state.

Everybody was talking that the region was the mini state tourney

This years region 2 was a mini state tournament as well Park River could have won or got 2nd in state if they would of been there

I think that was the year the Griggs County and Dakota Prairie were also rated in state, plus them 4 teams.

Yes, I would agree with you that region 2 was the most dominant region that year. Without a doubt. I remember those teams. However, to say that the region runnerup would also be state champs most years is a bit much. Region 2 has produced many excellent teams in the last 10 years and have been successful at state....no doubt. I'm just saying other regions have also been very successful so you can't just put the "dominant" tag on any specific region.
