I'll give you 10 to 1 odds that the top 4 seeds of this district do not make it to regionals. With how the regular season has gone, there are bound to be some upsets in this tourney. Kind of like last year with #7 St John making it to the championship game. RRL is my darkhorse....they have wins over MS and ML, but also have lost to RW. They could do anything in this tournament from losing out in the first two games to taking home the top prize.

There hasn't been an upset yet. Is anyone else astounded by this? Especially after the seasons that the teams in District 8 have had...I'm quite impressed. The MS-ML match up on Monday should be a great game. Excited to see who takes it.

This is probably going to be a very physical match-up. M-S needs Ethan dude to show up and put in a solid effort for them to win the district championship. I'm going to take M-S 62 M-L 56

Yes and no. The season started out very crazy but as it progressed, things started to shake out. RW and AE didn't really pose a threat so that eliminates them as possible upsets. I think if say St. John or Rolla played ML or MS again, we might have seen an upset. As it turns out, I think that the top seeds will win on Mon. The Rolla/St. John game could bring the best chance for an upset.

I agree...MS needs Ethan to step up and be dominant down underneath. They also need Riley and Richard to play consistently and logically. MS needs to keep an eye on Reid and Haus. I think if they can keep those two under control, if they can limit them and make someone else step up they have a good chance of pulling this one out. This game should be intense.

Kinda an ugly one but a win is a win! St. John is gonna have to step it up if they wanna be a threat in the region tourney.

MS 54
ML 44

ML turned the ball over too many times and gave up too many offensive boards. Cant do that against a team like MS. Reid Haagenson sr. athlete of the year, Ron Carlson coach of the year, Randy Loing AD of the year. On to the Regional tourney....

Where was ML predicted to finish this year? Not that it really matters but I disagree with Carlson as coach of the year. I am basing this off of the assumption that ML was picked 2nd, if they were picked lower it would prove me wrong. You basically had 2 teams that finished with very similar records. 1 is coached by a great coach (Carlson) that has had a proven track record. The other has taken a team (MS) that has had very limted sucess in the past half decade and finished where they were supposed to. Again, it doesn't matter but it seems a little strange to me. Great job MS on the win. Keep it up.

All the coaches vote for who they think is coach of the year so its hard to argue against who they pick. IF the media or something voted for it, then there could be arguments.

ML finished 1st in district 8, yeah, it wasnt pretty, but thats the way it went down. They were not picked to be first, but ended up that way, so maybe thats why he was VOTED, not picked, COY. Risovi from LM girls was not COY even though they exceeded all expectations and finished #2 in the District with only 2 losses, but he did get the Region COY.

Who did get it for the girls. I would have thought Risovi would have been a lock for it. I guess I don't agree with any of the coaches in the district then.

No kidding....guess I have to eat my words. I thought for sure RRL or Northstar would pull off an upset or two and at least one of them make the regional.
