Top 3 point shooters

Postby nativegolfer » Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:02 pm

CJ IH has 72 3 pointers so far this season. Just curious if anyone knows of any other numbers some other good shooters have put up this season.

Alec Lackmann from Region 1. Oak Grove. he plays behind a senior sniper from range Cory Samsons, but evertime he gets that ball you have a feeling its going in.

How many does he have? It's easy to say someone is a good shooter but show me some proof.

I don't know how many he's jacked up for the season, but i can try to get that info. I know he's had games of 8-13, 9-12 and 7-10. So he can shoot the heck out of the ball and not just throw up a bunch of three's and shoot a low %.

I'd say to consider someone a great shooter atleast go over 50%

45%......thats not great to me considering all the attempts he has

With all the attempts he has that makes the 45% even better. The law of averages would say that the more you shoot, your percentage would go down. Anything over 40% from 3pt is remarkable to me.

wow...i would love to watch you shoot cuz i bet you can just light it up. do you have to shoot 95% from the foul line to be good too?? wow. i dont understand you...like ndlionsfan said the more attempts you shoot the more the law of averages comes into play so 45% is just amazing. whos a better shooter a guy who is 2-3 for 66% on the year or a guy 45-100 for 45%???

ndlionsfan is right. Anything over 40% is awesome as long as there is a respectable number of attempts. Not that I completely agree, but many people use the logic that since 3's are worth 1.5 times as much as a regular field goal, you should multiply the percentage by that to compare them. By that logic 40% from behind the arc is like 60% from the field, so 45% would be a remarkable 67.5%. Like I said, I don't totally agree with this, but it seems somewhat logical.

I've always understood that an average guard should make 1/3 three pointers (33%)....so i'd say that anything above that would be above average...35% is ok...40% is good....and 45% or above is great.
