Agreed. You know the field is weak when the first game of the tournament between the 1 and 8 seeds was so close. In all reality, there may only be two or three teams from the tournament that make it to their Regional tournaments. Not the fault of the tournament committee, they don't necessarily choose the best teams, there is pretty much a set lineup. The truth is, Class B basketball is having a down year. Go off on me all you want and tell me different, but compare the strength of the average Class B team this year with that of a team 5 or 10 years ago. I think if you played Northern Cass (the champion team) against any championship team from more than two or three years ago, it wouldn't be a close game. Let's face it, we'll always have the great athletes from the Class B schools, but the talent field in the small schools is diminishing. I don't think the Barnes County Tournament will ever be the "elite" tournament that it used to be.
