How does BCN get votes while FSHP who handled them pretty easily gets none?

I'm not sure, but BCN must have received just a single vote from someone since they're listed toward the end of the "others receiving votes." I do agree that FSHP should have had a vote over BCN.

Ya, the votes part of the poll one kinda has to take with a grain of salt right now as it is really early in the year.

The poll looks good to me, I thought maybe Lisbon would be 4 or 3 though with the HUGE win over LMM. And LaMoure would be around 8 or 9 because they barely escaped a victory over a good but not great team.

I think with the win over Bowman County, Killdeer should be in consideration for the top 10. They should have at least gotten some votes over the likes of Dunseith, BCN, and Langdon.

LMM was without 2 starters: Formo and Rode. Probably not enough to beat Lisbon, but more than likely would have been closer.
Lisbon is the real deal. Big, quick and athletic. Lisbon has some good experience. Carblom and another senior or two back, Lee and a real strong junior class. Not sure, but I think a good amount of varsity experience in the rotation.
LaMoure is good, but will be a lot better in 10 games or so. A very good nucleus of Shockman, Holen and Watkins. Schrader is very strong and athletic. He missed several games last year with a broken nose, and struggled to get back into playing shape, but finished strong. Pollert, the fifth starter could be a nice role player at 6'3". Runs well, strong and agressive, but needs confidence and varsity time. Had little if any last year. 6th man is a soph, Stemen at 6'2". No experience at the varsity level, but pretty athletic, good shooter, with good instints. Should be a real solid backup by mid season or so.

i think that if a team loses their first game they should not receive votes. BCN is not a top 15 team in the state, along with Langdon and FW, but yet they get votes over Killdeer or strasburg. they may be top 15 by the end of the year but not at the moment. teams that havent played a game yet are also questions for me

so maybe don't release a poll until after Jan 1? I take polls as 60% entertainment 39% legit. If you know the people voting, I think you'll also understand that a radio sports director in Dickinson...just may...not know if BCN has anything after last year compared to the writer in Jamestown that knows BCN is not the 06-07 model...it's no different than any other poll. And to expect hours of investigation is not realistic.

in short...it is what it is...

Who cares what the media thinks? Generally they pretend to know it all.

evidently some people care what the media think or there wouldnt be as much scrutiny of said polls.

as far as pretending to know it all....posted up on a message board where we all can be convicted of claiming to know it all. touche

i'll let that stand as it is.

3 things every guy in North Dakota THINKS he can do:

run the sports/local paper better than the local paper
run the game and fish department better than the game and fish department
run the local cafe/bar better than the current ownership

i'm sure the list could be expanded
