The districts voted on certain recommendations from each district this past week at the state tournament. These were a few things that passed and will be looked at by the NDHSAA board of directors:

1. Pass on to the officials to be consistent in the enforcement of rules (bench decorum).
2. Change the 6 quarter per night and 95 quarters total for the season to 6/114.
3. Recommend State Track Meet site to be Bismarck every year.
4. Three-person officiating needs to be used in Regional and State Tournaments for Class B Basketball.

Some things that got voted down were:

Move regional basketball tournaments to Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. The vote was defeated, 2-12

I think this is info from the March 2005 meeting.  It says 3-18-05 on your link.

Still useful though for those who had missed it, which would indeed include myself. Thanks for the link ndfan!

You were right here is what their agenda was for last Friday. Nothing has been posted on what they voted for. Thanks classB2001 for finding my mistake. Sorry about that.

who votes on these things?  Is it the coaches  or the AD or the Administrator of each school?

I think it could be anyone from the Administration, Athletic Director, or coach who ever the district sends. I think they vote on stuff on the agenda not sure how you get something voted on. If it passes a vote by the districts then it goes to the NDHSAA board they look at it and then they probably vote on it. Maybe somebody has more of a clue on how it works.

Each district has a district chair that they send to the meeting.  Any district can put what they want on the agenda.  They do not vote on everything on the agenda, but discussion points mostly.  16 districts--16 voters.  Often does not mean much.  some items have been voted on by the District chairs 16-0 but the NDHSAA board votes 0-11 against it.
