Grant Lindahl from Northstar is the younger brother to Evan and Jonathon Lindahl.

He didnt really impress me much, he didnt stand out. He's a decent player, but not much more.

Philip Schanilec from Midway-Minto went for 9, 11 and 16 at the PR holiday tournament. Leading or second in scoring all three games there.

He's a nice player, and can really shoot it. Plus, he seems like a nice kid, and that only makes you want him to be successful.

Followed up the tournament with 16 on Grafton. Only player in double figures for MM.

This Schanilec kid might be emerging as the best Freshman in the state, at least the top 5. Put up 18 last saturday against drayton/st thomas and 19 on monday night against North Border.

I saw Crest and Robbins led Cavalier to a big victory over Park River monday night too. Crest with 19 and Robbins with something in double figures.

I would have to say Joe Laducer from St.John he is really good on and off the court and he is a really good guy to know plus he usually averages like double figures a game so that would be my say

I would say that Brandon Swain is pretty good also he onlay averages 1 pt a game but he can pass the ball and well he is very good on the free throw line.

SF-Mitch Slater----averaging 7 pts and 5 assists
SG-Joe Laducer-----averaging 15pts and 7 rebounds

Schanilec, Robbins, Crest, Lindahl, Mathison (younger brother to Mike @ UND), Masloski, Dalzell and Rude are all good fresh from region 2 (lindahl is not from region 2) (used to be from NB though)

Phillip Schanilec is not the best freshman in the state. He only scores the majority of his points at the end of the games when the jv is in. Brady robbins and brandon chrest from cavalier have better stats and sit out when the game is well in hand they might be the best in the state. Hes a good player but by no means is he the best in the state.

I didnt say he was THE best. I said... "This Schanilec kid MIGHT be emerging as the best Freshman in the state, at LEAST the top 5." I did also make reference to Robins and Crest as well.

The scoring late in the game was the case earlier in the season. Not anymore. 19, 18, 16, and 16 all in the second half would be alot of points late in the game. Its pretty much a toss up. All three of those players are very tallented. Crest and Robbins have a leg up with a year of varsity experience already because Cavalier was rather down last year while MM was one missed layup at the buzzer from going to state last year. I know Crest and Robins both went through growing pains last year on varsity as they adjust to the speed of that level. Schanilec needed a few games early as well to adjust. Big jump from JH ball to varsity. Also need to learn their roles on the team as they go. Was a pass first, shoot second PG earlier in the year and is now looking for his shot through out the game. We will see at the end of the year if he continues to score at that pace on a team with few other offensive threats.

Did Jalen Ham at Central Cass recover from his knee injury already?
