After the district tournament teams in the regional have roughly a week and a half to prepare for the team they will face the in first round. Then if they win, they play the very next day. If you are a coach in the regional, would you prepare for the team you play the first round and worry about the other team the next night if you win, or do you prepare for two games?

well if ur a coach u will never tell ur players u r preparing for the game besides the one u are about to play but every knows they will be preparing for the other team as well.  a coach will say just to focus on one game at a time when really he is getting his team ready for the next game or game after as well.

i think you have to approach every game the same, you cant be overlooking anyone in tourney time, cuz if you loose your done.... but i think a lot of things are thrown at the players in that week before regionals to make sure they are prepared for everything

lets say you are in one of the district 14 team's shoes. You are obviously going up against teams that are not on your level and are going to be facing teams with twice the talent the very next night. It would help to put in a gameplan for the better team ahead of time, but then you run the risk of not being prepared and getting upset by the underdog in the first round.

if i was a coach i'd start gameplanning possibilities...but i would also be a nervous wreck this time of year and be sleeping all of about 45 minutes a night so there would be some free time...but i wouldn't let the team think about anything else other than the immediate team in front of them.

Your main focus has to be on the first team you play. Day before the game you go over there offense, OB plays, all that sort of stuff. What you do the whole week of practice though is go over stuff that you will possibly see. So say you have the possibilty of playing                   second round of regionals. You might incoorporate some of the stuff they did defensively during the week of practice.

It's kind of like preparing for state.  It doesn't do any good if you don't win your first game.  Some years the first round of Regionals you know you will win and you can concentrate on the semi's.  Other years you have a tough first round game and then wing it a little.  You usually know your Regional foes a little bit better, especially if you play your own district in the second round.  State is crazy the 2nd day because you don't normally get tape, etc for any teams but the first one and the next team you probably have never seen except for the day before.  It makes for a late night for coaches the Thurs of state.
