How many people on average go to the State Championship for the Class B Boys game?  What is the record for attendance at a championship game?

I'd say an average of maybe 6 or 7 thousand. And I have no clue what the record is. I remember a couple times where the whole Bismarck Civic Center is packed and I'm not sure exactly how many that holds.

I remember back when Standing Rock won State in 98' basically the whole Standing Rock Reservation was there, the tribe paid for charter buses for people to take up to Minot. That whole place was packed.

Bismarck Civic Center holds i believe 8500

and the Minot State Dome holds 10,000 but only one year that i know of that minot was filled to capacity and not sure when that was, but believe it was the late 80's.

When Watford City and Munich played in the title game of the state championship in 92 I believe the Minot Dome was announced as having over 10,000 people in attendence - and it was packed - standing room at the upper and middle levels. That was a lot of fun.
Bismarck holds close to 9500 and last year I believe the championship night was around 8500.

When I played in the Championship game in 1996 there was almost 10,000.  It was definitely over-crowded and people were standing everywhere.

Maybe someone can help me out here cause I am not certain on this, but I believe when I played in the 98 championship the attendance that night set a record of 11,000 and change.  I think that was the record attendance in ND for a bball game until UND/Kansas (which I was at also) was 13,000 and change.  I could be wrong, tho.

Man I cannot even imagine playing in front of a crowd so large. I would KILL for that.

I'm not sure if there is a bigger high than playing in the state championship game in front of 10,000 screaming fans. I would absolutely love to do that, and I'm jealous of all those who have had the opportunity.

UND/Kansas was about 13,500. I was also at that game and there wasn't a seat left unoccupied in the Ralph.  The atmosphere was unbelievable, and it was hard to believe that we were watching the likes of Drew Gooden, Kirk Heinrich, Collison & company play UND.

I cannot recall the attendance of the '98 state championship game, but I was one of those in the standing room area (took part in the parade of champions). So your estimate could be accurate.

It was 1991 when Watford and Munich played and the Wolves won by 1 I believe. In 1992 they met again in the first round and Munich won, they were the two best teams in the state again, but unfortunately they got paired up right away. That game also broke Watford City's 52 game winning streak.
