in my opinion you cant beat a region game in grafton or mayville!!!! it gets intense but region champ night last year the betty had alot of pep. in it and it was pretty loud but just not the same atmosphere but i bet it would be fun to play on. grafton has a really nice gym park rivers would be super nice if they would get rid of the terrible floor.

the scoreboard in hazen is hard for the players to see because you cant always look directly straight up i think its better if its on the sides so the players can see and manage time accordingly

Jack Micheal Omar Anthony Memorial Colliseum in Waukesha Wisconsin is one gym that could put some NBA homes to shame.  Awesome...

Here is the largest high school gym in the world. It in New Castle, Indiana and it seats 9,325. This is the gym that Steve Alford played his high school ballImage

I'd rank Region 1 gyms like this:

1. Central Cass

2. Lisbon

3. Lidgerwood - new, I heard locker rooms are quite small

4. Kindred

5. Hankinson - new, would be higher, but bleachers on one side only

Gotta agree there Mailman_25, those are defenitely the top five in the region.  All are very nice gyms.  Could almost put any of them in any order in the top five.

Out of all the gym's that I've been to, I would have to say that Hazen and Dickinson Trinity are two teams that would win that.

im betting they lost 2-3 rows on each side. They added stairs which takes away space. And the seats are wider as well. That loses a ton of seats.

From what the majority of people wrote on this topic it seems to me that the western part of the state gyms are a lot nicer than anything on the eastern side.  I wish I had the opportunity to check a few of them out.

I don't see why no one is talking about New Town's new gym. Has no one been up there to see it??  I would say that it's probaly nicer then Trinity's. It doesn't have the bleachers on the end but it has an upper layer of bleachers just as big as the lower, and the lower is bigger then trinity's lower.

Park River has a tartan floor - at least it used to. It is not fun. They did hold tournaments for Regions one year back in the mid 1980's. It was the absolute worst ran tournament I have ever been to, seen, or heard of. YOU DO NOT want a region or district tournament in Park River.

Trinity's gym is pretty dang nice. They seat close to 3,000 and that place gets rockin' on Region 7 semifinals and championship night. I remember the 2001 Region 7 semifinals when they almost had to lock the doors. Trinity (Matt Ukested got hurt in this game, shattered his elbow, out for the year) vs. Scranton (Dirk Mack, Adam Palczewski, etc.) and Killdeer (Ross Walker's senior year) vs. Mott-Regent (in their first year where they had just an enormous fan base)

They did lock the door last year in the regional championship night. People showed up 2 hours in advance to get in the doors. Place was so packed, kids were piled on the baselines just to make room.
